Unfortunately this transcends the molds of standard relationship stress and misunderstandings. She asking if her hell on earth is worth it. Imagine being alone, defensless, vulnerable to deprediations of a lover that has no soul or no conscience. Imagine being a plaything, a toy that can be discarded at a whim or placed on a shelf to just look pretty? The rhetorical question in the this theme is when is enough is enough. When does scars, broken bones, and more important the exsential residue constitute enough to leave an abusive relationship. She singing about a relationship that so bed that it can be equated to mind or emotional rape. This is situation that often lead to post-traumatic stress disorder, and life of overcoming the fear and resentment of this brutal captivitity.
