Not Necessarily About LOTR | Reviewer: Hannah | 7/24/10
Although used in the soundtrack for LOTR, another version has also been performed and released (by Will Martin in 2009).
This song doesn't speak to me about LOTR, or the elves (and yes, I have both read the books and watched the films), but it speaks to me of saying goodbye to someone you love, concievably forever, possibly to death.
As a Christian it tells me of heaven. In my current situation, that's certainly appropriate.
RIP, Grandad Geoff. You know I love you.
Excellent but SO SAD | Reviewer: Petr Kurfürst | 7/8/10
Every time I hear this song, however beautiful, amazing, moving and pleasing it is, I just know it is THE END - if you follow me, the ultimate end of the entire LOTR story and everything, all the films and now you must go back to the real world, which is nowhere near as beautiful and you have to try like hell to make it good, and there is no director or no characters that will do that for you... To me, the song is very sad. But, it's beautiful.
Even better with context | Reviewer: Alex | 6/25/10
This composition is even more powerful when you've become involved in the LotR mythology and stories, especially the final scenes of the third movie when those final and eternal goodbyes are exchanged between characters whose friendships have been so deeply established. Fantastic end to the epic tale.
Touching and haunting | Reviewer: Erik S. | 6/15/10
This song is an anthem to anyone who has lost someone very dear to them, as I did my grandmother on 10 June, 2010. This song causes floods down my face but brings me comfort at the same time, it's amazing. I love you and miss you grandma Helen, and I long for the ships to carry me across the shores and into your arms again.

Very moving | Reviewer: Kayla, age 13 | 1/31/10
This song is soo moving. I am not a huge fan of singing but I would happily sing this to anyone who asked. I would be very hapy to have this played at my funeral.
The world is split into three parts: the people who have read LOTR, the people who will read LOTR and people who are illiterate.

amazingly beautiful! | Reviewer: lizzie | 1/26/10
This song is the best. It can speak to sooo many people in so many ways. As a lord of the rings fan, it spoke to me about the elves and their belief of going into the west. As a Christian, it spoke to me about heaven and that everything will be all right. It is a great before bed song tht you can play on your ipod to lull you to sleep. Everytime i listen to it before i sleep i always wake up with sweet dreams. This song is amazing!
Song of the Elves | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/18/10
This song embodies all the beliefs of the elves of middle earth and their beliefs of the Undying Lands, and of their longing of the sea, and of their home across the sea in the Grey Havens. This is the song of all Elvendom on Earth! It speaks to the soul, and I love it.
Grace | Reviewer: Kyle | 1/16/10
This has to be one of the most touching songs that I have ever heard. I think its a song of pure grace and love. I listen to it everyday on the way to work to get myself in a peaceful "zone" and my co-workers love it also. This is one of those songs that could turn anyones day around in a matter of seconds.
maudie | Reviewer: reenie | 1/3/10
our mom passed in sept.coming from a family of 7 ,our matriarch was gone, leaving behind 55 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.being raised with ''the trilogy'', it was only fitting we had this song after the eulogy.we might have made a mistake with having a bagpiper for the recession, everyone lost it at that point.anyway,i can now listen to the song without crying and thinking of what a wonderful life she had and we all will think of her when hearing it
Into the West | Reviewer: Justin | 12/23/09
I'd heard this song several times before in the credits for LOTR, but I only really listened to it after some friends gave me the soundtrack. And in this song, I could feel someone very dear to me, speaking across a vast distance. And telling me everything would be ok.
Requiescat in Paces, Bonnie....I'm so sorry.

i am a fifteen year old boy. my high school sucks because the kids are so immature i cant even get a girl friend because as soon as i do rumors start up i'm not ugly. this song gave me hope for the future that maybe ill find a girl for me ;) i cried the first time is is sung by a voice that sounds so masterful and has already had the troubles that she got through by looking toward the horizon. this song changed my life and i still havn't found that girl....
Wonderfull Amazing Perfect | Reviewer: Alanna [vanya in elvish] | 10/22/09
When I first heard this song I cried. I heard it when my step aunt played LOTR songs on the piano after the funeral of my Nana. It made me think she is in a better place and we will meet again. i love this song and nearly Know it off by heart
BEST SONG EVER
Hope put to music. | Reviewer: IXOYE | 4/3/09
This song made me cry the first time I heard it. I am a guy so that does not happen very often. The first time I heard this song was a week and a half after my best friend was killed by a gang who jumped him and stuck a knife in his chest. I never got to say goodbye, but this song made me realize that I will see him again and goodbyes won't be necessary this time.
Inspiring | Reviewer: Alrune | 3/10/09
Ever since I was little, and for the first time heard the story about a couple of insignificant Hobbits who fought and made their way to save Middle Earth, I was in love. The story is rich with symbols which made it a part of modern mythology.
This song to me translates as parting of friends, so as to continue the never-ending journey. It inspired me so many times, and continues to do so, every time a cycle in my life ends, with that feeling of excitement for the new, unexpected future, mixed with sadness for everything that I am about to leave behind. It captures that moment perfectly...
Beautiful.
