The Reviews about Into The West (page 3/ 9)
------ performed by Annie Lennox

Beautiful and haunting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/17/07

Reassuring, inspiring and totally mesmerizing, this song is!!!

I can't help but think of grand themes alike, "Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home, I looked over Jordan"(river) "and what did I see coming for to carry me home? There's a whole band of Angels coming after me, coming for to carry me home."

An old AfricanAmerican Spiritual started when slaves, inspired apparently by the scriptures on Elijah the phrophet being takin to heaven by chariots of fire then his son was waiting or it happenned near the jordan river, gee i just noticed the name, Elijah as in Woods, strange.

anyhow, i think of that,starts in 2Ki 2:1

Then, All will turn to silver glass, a light on the water all souls pass, makes me think of

Rev 22:1 ¶ And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
then, white shores are calling, leads me on in
Rev 22:2 and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.
then, Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away, goes into Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse:
then , lay down your sweet and weary head, youll be here in my arms, goes into,
Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

Gee, the entire book of Rev. should be read, not supposed to break it up like that, so just to be clear, read the whole chapter, everyone should anyway. Last book of the Bible, the most important one you could ever read. Try not to understand it all though, no one does but God.

This song is so beautiful. I have seen the movie and they incorperated this so well into the movie. It is the perfect song for the perfect ending of one the best movies in cinema history

Seems very symbolic and meaningful | Reviewer: Cary Briel | 11/12/07

One of the most meaningful songs I've ever heard. Definitely inspired by LOTR. Also very symbolic. My blog: http://www.skaneatelestalk.com

Loveliest song ever | Reviewer: Aaida | 11/13/07

I'm not really such a big music person but i heard this song at the end of the LOTR part 3.... The voice and the melody are so spellbinding, a truly incredible ending to one of the best movies ever

thanks | Reviewer: Helia | 11/4/07

Just a word to thank Mr Peter Jackson for bringing this song to me, I just can't explain how bright it is.

haunting | Reviewer: Sarah | 10/26/07

My sister in law requested this song be played at the end of her funeral. The clarity and purity of this song is absolutely haunting. Aa much as I was upset and grieving the loss of her, this song chilled me to the bone it was so beautiful-as though she was speaking to us through it. All I can say is, yes, I agree annie lennox IS amazing!

The best ever written & performed | Reviewer: Madeline Turnbull | 10/16/07

I found this song about a Month ago and love it so much I want all my music loving family and friends to hear it. I have a collection of songs but can't listen to anything else right now.

Song's inspiration from LOTR | Reviewer: Terry | 10/15/07

I absolutely love this song, both hearing it and reading it as poetry. I think it takes alot of it's inspiration from 'Song for the Sea' from the Lord of the Rings. See this link: http://tolkien.cro.net/talesong/sea.html

I already thought Annie Lennox was an amazing talent, but after this song, the woman is a legend and deserves more recognition than she currently receives!

Great Song | Reviewer: Johnny | 10/15/07

One of the few songs that capture me instantly but anyways, me writing this isn't about tell anyone how great the song is but to tell you about something else. I have a version of the song, pure instruments and no lyrics. Duet of flute(or any variation of it) and violin. It is definitely the greatest music I heard in my life. the violin sound is AMAZING I think all of you should hear it. if you want it msn me and i will send it to you. I found it very very randomly and it is unlikely for me to find it again. ravenofnight@hotmail.com cheers!

Beauty of a Song | Reviewer: Stephanie | 10/11/07

Wow, this song is so beautful. Even though I prefer Enya's voice over Annie Lennox's, A.L. did a GREAT job on this. It just about made me cry. It is the best song in the world. :) -Stephanie, 13 years old
