The Reviews about Breathe (2 AM) (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Anna Nalick

abortion yes but I think you have the subject screwed up | Reviewer: Not Anon | 7/14/2008
I can see the first verse being about abortion, but it sounds to me more like it's her friend calling her because the friends pregnant... 2nd verse I was thinking was a good friend of hers with a drinking problem...
Whatever. It's good that a song can have so many different meanings... it gets people thinking

I think it is about Alcoholism | Reviewer: Patrick | 7/9/2008

I think the song is about alcoholism. At 2 Am she calls her sponsor and tells her about the mistake she made to drink or use drugs again. When she walks through the doors she is going back to meetings and unfortunately when you relapse people do look at you like there is something wrong with you. They would by hypocritical because it does happen and people try to make themselves feel better because they didn't go back out.
Times like an hourglass refers to the fact that no one can change what they did, and if you keep looking back at all your mistakes it will just happen again.
The Ft. Bliss part is where they see a young guy at a AA meeting dealing with his issues (maybe from the war) and she wants to hold him and make him feel better, but she can't because he has to figure it out on his own. This song reminds so many people about so many different things I think it is wonderful. I am a recovering Ex Army drug addict and when I heard this song this is what I thought it meant.

    Lifes mistakes... | Reviewer: Dustie | 5/26/2008

First verse: abortion. She wants to be accompanied to have this "mistake" taken care of. Everyone looks at her, because well, that's what happens when you go to an abortion clinic. The criticize you but they are there for the same reason, or something close to anyway. She fell in lust with a soldier, and the outcome was her being pregnant.

    Chorus: pretty self explanatory.

2nd verse: Father of the baby. He fell in love with the girl, but she didn't feel the same way, he drinks to make the pain go away. I'm assuming he finds out she is pregnant and having an abortion, making him feel even more lonely. The song speaks of his beautiful smile which I would imagine is what the girl was attracted to.

So just breathe. That's all you can do because you can't go back. And in most cases even if you did you would repeat the things you did because they were wonderful at the time.

What songs REALLY about: | Reviewer: Jessica. | 5/19/2008

This song is about anna's friend calling her at 2am because she's about to have her mistake, which is a baby. She doesn't even love the guy who got her pregnant, winter just wasn't her season cause that's when it happened. When they walk in the doors of the hospital, people give her nasty looks because she is so young, when they need to stop judging cause they are there for the same reason.

Then the chorus is stating that you can jump the tracks were like cars on a cable, meaning you got on this ride, and you have to follow the path it's on. An hour glass glued to the table means, your stuck in this position. You can't find the rewind button, so you can't go back and fix this. just breathe, meaning have the baby.

In the second verse, it describes the baby's father. He's a soilder who seems to be a drunk all the time. Then when he visits, and is town, the friend shows the father his son who smiles, and the father doesnt want anything to do with the child.

And in the third verse, it's saying that there no point in trying to fix this mistake, to go back in time and erase it cause you'll just do it again and wont learn from it.

    Overall, it's a great song.

    2am | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/31/2008

ive never seen that first verse as about an abortion, but instead i thought of it as marriage counselling..... it could be about anything. i really like the second verse. it's really heartfelt, i think, more than the other parts.... love the chorus of course. great song. timeless.

    inturpetation? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/7/2008

The first verse i thught was about the girl not being in love with the dad of her unborn baby and goin to get an abortion.
The the second verse was about a soldier with an alcohol problem. "Fort Bliss" beeing a generic base camp.
The last part was about, a girl the narrator, overcoming an abusive or controling relationshp.
With the bridge tieing it all together.
    But hats just me...

wow. that's so weird how you can take this song in different ways. when I heard it I always thought about this girl about to get married and has to get out of it because she loves someone else. but abortion. wow. it makes sense both ways.
thats so weird. anyway...i love this song!

    2 a.m | Reviewer: Traci | 3/1/2008

Geez, this song makes me cry.
But it's so right, sometimes all you can do is cradle your head in your hands and breathe, waiting to see what the outcome is of whatever crisis you've found yourself in..hoping that you can make the best out of a bad situation.

    Abortion | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/29/2008

Now that I listen to the song again, it does seem to be about abortion, especially the part that says "Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes, like they have any right at all to criticize, hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason." Like they are walking into an abortion clinic and get criticized by everyone else there, even though they are all there for the same reason... it makes sense!!

    abortion?really? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/14/2008

when I heard it, and when i read the lyrics I got a whole different meaning. I thought it was about depression and people using the wrong things to deal with it. like the girl and her boyfriend where into drugs and she called her friend to help her get clean ( rehab) and the guy was obviously an alcoholic. and her saying that everyone makes choices and even if you make the wrong ones you can't just sit and wish you could change it, but make the best of the life you have.

then again I could be completely wrong. thats just my interpritation of the song.
