The Reviews about Con Te Partiro (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Andrea Bocelli

this is the translation, i found it on the web after some searching. | Reviewer: Peter Valkema | 11/20/09

In english:

When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
And words fail
Yes, I know there is no light
In a room where the sun is absent
If you are not with me
At the windows
Show everone my heart
Which you set alight
Enclose within me
The light you
Encountered on the street

I'll go with you
To countries I newer
Saw and shared with you
Now, yes, I shall experience them
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them

When you are far away
I dream on the horizon
And words fail
And yes, I know
That you are with me
You, my moon, are here with me
My sun, you are here with me

I'll go with you
To countries I never
Saw and shared with you
Now, yes, I shall experience them
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them again
I'll go with you
On ships across seas
Which, I know,
No, no, exist no longer
With you I shall experience them again
I'll go with you
I, with you

Meaning of Leaving with you | Reviewer: G. Pasquale | 11/20/09

The meaning of Leaving with you will be always the verse of the song. Knowing one day this may end will be the last day of my life. I will always leave with you. Keeping our love is only true, with you I will leave.

Italian vs. English | Reviewer: Luis Eugenio (from Brazil) | 8/28/09

Words sounds very different in Italian and English. That's why they translated as "time to say goodbye" and it really can be confusing because in italian all the music is about two lovers that will do everything to be together. It is NOT a literal translation. "Con te partiro; paesi che non ho mai; veduto e vissuto con te; adesso si li vivro" would be literally "I'll leave with you; countries that I have not seen or experienced with you; now I shaw experience them". Hope it helps!

con te partiro... | Reviewer: Beth | 4/4/09

Just like other person said in the above, i would also love to know the english lyrics. anyways, even though i have absolute no idea what most of the words are saying, i think this song is very beautiful.-Beth

Con te partiro translates exactly as its sang. The word "CON" means with, as it is in spanish or old latin. After the term "TE" is included in this compound it becomes "With You" as "CON TE". Partirar is a verb again translated the same in spanish to mean "TO PART WITH" or simply "TO PART" To add the word "with" in this case becomes redundant and confusing.
Ultimately as its sang...the translation shouldnt be too confusing...."WITH YOU I GO"..As for an exact meaning to the lyrics and purpose of those words I cant say....
I do know the other song that includes English. "Its hard to say goodbye"
I like the idea of considering that they are saying goodbye along with eachother. May it mean a parting of the couple....or the departing of the couple to their old lives.
Who knows.....its a beautiful song!!

Loving Completly | Reviewer: Tina | 1/23/08

I heard in an interview this song is about finding your true love. That once you find that person, you are at peace to 'say goodbye' to life experiences and things you haven't seen with this person...because you are so satisfied with them. You are saying goodbye to the world you experienced before them.

hopefully this may help | Reviewer: Jimmy | 1/6/08

the translation means of many difference, only cause it's the translation...but the purpose still sounds the same...most of the words in there has multiple means so some might be thrown off...but in the end the sounds the vocals, has a sad disappear...you might even say that saying goodbye means he is leaving his town for the girl he is longing for...iuno im not italian but i do read into as much as i can...so yeah hope that helps if not my deepest apologize

che confusione! | Reviewer: JLD | 3/20/07

Italian, when translated into English, does not always make sense literally. The word "time" in Italian can be written as 'tempo' or 'ore' depending on what context you are referring to. In English, time encompasses several meanings all in one word. So the equivalent would be "i leave with you" in Italian. Similarly, movies that have been translated from English to Italian have changed their titles slightly. E.g., the movie "50 first dates" is translated into "50 kisses" or something of that nature. Hope this helped! :)
