Fact: Anberlin's members are christian
This means that everything they do will be influenced by being a christian including their music. Their music does NOT have a bad message. Some of the songs can apply to God, but some don't. The songs that don't are NOT going against Christianity.
Anberlin is a great band and have some songs influenced by Christianity. You should listen to Anberlin no matter what, and I agree with the person who has a 15-year-old son on the message. So quit arguing if Anberlin is a christian band!
To Sum it all up:
Anberlin is a band whose members are Christian. If you are a Christian, it should impact every aspect of your life. In Anberlin's case: the music.
F'in christians | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/25/08
Music is meant to speak to people separately not as a whole each person is meant to get there own interpretations of a song. For a christian to say that is song is christian is an EPIC PHAIL your retarded the members maybe christians themselves but there music is meant to speak to each persons own indulgences therefore saying there music is christian is retarded because as someone said if it were soley christian then it would be praising god so fuck off quit labeling music as christian and unchristian im sure not all the music you listen to is being self riteous and is full of impurities music is to great of a thing to have religion fight over it get your own interpretation from it and fuck off

Guys, Anberlin may be christan, but remember there are lots of religons around, i mean im christan as well. ( But i dont go to chruch Muahah ) Well i love Anberlin's music becuase it speaks to me as a person. I mean their meanings of the songs are a mix of: Love, God, Cheating. All these things that us Christans know alot about.
This song is Christian | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/18/08
IMO, this song is influenced by Christianity, look at the line "you want to draw my outline" basically means draw the iconic chalk outline in cartoon murders, which can be interpreted as killing him. And in the Bible it says that an immoral woman leads to death.
Very good song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/17/08
I wasn't aware of Anberlin until my 15 year old son played some for me. Particularly this song. We discussed its lyrical content and he got out of it what I had hoped he would..that sexual impurity and temptation present themselves in many forms and its never a good thing to allow those temptations to take root where you wind up acting on them. I have no problem with Christian artists not wanting to be in the CCM scene. Anymore than I would have a problem with a Christian lawyer representing nonchristians or a Christian grocier selling to nonbelievers. Its not our place to tell others how God should be using them. That's God's job.
That having been said...I think the song is very well done and I like the singer's voice. I will listen and look over other Anberlin songs but I have no trouble with this.
well | Reviewer: failing without reason | 11/4/08
if amberlin was a christian band then their lyrics would reflect that no questions asked .I am not saying that the members of the band are not christians that between them and God its their personal decision .but a christain band would have uplifting lyrics that would glorify God ,not lyrics about an affair with someones girlfriend I was dissapointed I looked up the lyrics to see if this song was really by amberlin
Go Red! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/30/08
Great song. I love it.
I agree with 'red'.
Anberlin has chirstian members,
and therefore their lyrics end up being christian.
Don't slam christians, we have feelings too.
Think what you want to, but you aren't going to change my mind with rude comments about my faith.
You are all idiots | Reviewer: Lumberjack | 9/27/08
Music is music whether it be of a more western style, eastern style, christian, gregorian, pentatonic, mixolydian, whatever! How can it possibly matter if they're a christian band or a non-christian band? Their music is the same either way! So shut up! Quit trying to get the last word in and quit ruining their music with stupid arguments! If you've ever played in a band you know how hard it is to write and perform songs like Anberlin does, so show them some respect and respect their music. Don't tarnish it.
this is painful | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/24/08
anberlin are an amazing band and we obviously all like them otherwise why would we be looking up their lyrics?
just because they believe in god and have previously called themselves by a name which indicates a christian band doesn't mean thats what they are.
the term 'christian band' to me implies a band that creates music about nothing but their religion, a band devoted to christianity - and very little if nothing else -, that is something anberlin clearly is not. the members may be christians, they may hold those beliefs which will obviously affect the music they create and their ideas, but surely because they changed their name from SaGoh indicates a separation from the whole catagory of christian bands.
who cares whether they are or are not a christian band? they're a band. the members have christian beliefs. does that really matter though when the music they give us is so amazing?
Wow. | Reviewer: Heather | 9/20/08
You know, it doesn't REALLY matter if a band is christian or not. Religion has nothing to do with how good music is... Good music is good music, end of story. It's pathetic that everyone fights over this stuff. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. That's simple. I am not religious at all, and I listen to bands that are christian, so why should it be different the other way around?
