you are all saying about bios and crap and arguing and i'm not saying for sure if they are a christian band or not. but alot of their songs do portray christian values. and steve christian said himself that on this cd some stuff was written about Revelations with a capital R meaning the book of prophecy in the bible....
You're all idiots..... | Reviewer: Family Christian stores | 7/13/09
I just bought this cd at the Christian book store. You're all welcome to look yourselves because anberlin, while obviously not every single song is about god and Jesus, the members of the band ARE Christian, every one of them. Good game.

Umm, I really like the discussion we have going on here,(great stuff) but i have the CD New Surrender and... sorry to say... we're posting on the wrong song.
The title of the song is "Feel Good Drag" there isn't a "The". Sorry to tell you. I would post this on the page that's right, but non of you would see it. (It has yet to receive a review) QUICK! HURRY! POST YOUR OWN BULLSHIT BEFORE SOMEONE HAS THE CHANCE TO BEAT YOU TO IT!!!
lol? | Reviewer: bucky (not really) | 7/8/09
Dude... What makes it Christian is the content. Christian morals and theology is presented. All of these anti-religious posts, "about a cheating whore" and "religious crap" both tried to say it was a non-religious song singing about keeping the seventh commandment (thou shalt not commit adultery). Just because you aren't religious and Anberlin might be one of your favorite bands doesn't mean you have to try to make them not Christian. Just enjoy them for what they are. You are insulting your favorite band with this stuff.
feel good drag | Reviewer: ahcappy73@yahoo.com | 6/1/09
This is my favorite song out now and I really don't care if it's christian or not. It's so much better than songs out now it's fun, catchy, and the acoustic version is fantastic! Who cares if Anberlin is a bunch of christians, you need to find something better to debate about!
sooo.... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/26/09
I think that the main issue here is what the definition of "Christian Rock" is. For some people Christian Rock is when all the members claim to be Christians and show that through their lyrics. While others feel that it's whether or not all of their lyrics are directly about God. Now since Anberlin has said multiple times that they are a group of Christians, BUT they don't like to consider themselves to be "Christian Rock", some of us feel a bit contradicted. However, since they all consider themselves to be Christians, we must (or at least some of us) assume that their beliefs will influence their lyrics like it would with any band that has any major beliefs. So now it seems we have come full circle. This is where the confusion comes in, simply because of lyric interpretation. Much like bands like Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Flyleaf, and others that all have Christian members, they don't like to be signed to a Christian label just because of this reason; they fear people will interpret their lyrics in one way and one way only, being about God. Now I'm sure with many of these songs by Anberlin and other bands like them, their original meaning may be about God, but we must also look at their other music like the song A Day Late, or Audrey Start the Revolution! These songs are clearly not about God, but are about things more earthly, like relationships or peer pressure. So when it comes to the other songs, how do we interpret their meanings? Well there's an easy solution to this question that has been pondering some people here! Bands like Lifehouse or Anberlin, purposely make their lyrics vague and indecisive because they want people to have them apply to their own life. If every song by Anberlin was directly about God, then non-Christians would have no desire to listen to it because they can't connect. I myself like to interpret many of Anberlin's songs as being about God and sin and redemption because I am a Christian and I connect better. However, I can easily see how someone can interpret their music as simply being about life and being positive, because that is exactly what the artist had in mind when they wrote it, they left messages there for Christians to pick up on, since they are Christians, but they also left the song open enough for anyone of any faith to understand and connect with. So in a way, I agree with both sides here. And I really don't feel that the label itself matters, I have a broad definition of a "Christian band", so I consider them to be one, but I really don't care if they call themselves a rap band, I still love their music and lyrics. The one thing I do not agree with though, is the people that think their lyrics are negative. This is far from the truth, and regardless of your faith, these lyrics should be seen as positive, and if you disagree with me on that, I be happy to show you songs and lyrics.
these guys are alternate rock....not christian | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/14/09
sorry to burst all of your bubbles, but they aren't christian rock, says right in the many bios i've read abpout them. and if you really want to know what the songs meaning is, then just look it up instead of arguing back and forth. Its pointless, and really i dont care if its about god and all that. i like the song and prefer not to overanalize it.
Christian doesn't nessesarily mean praise Jesus | Reviewer: Taylor | 5/14/09
Why not just review the music instead of its religious background? Being a christian band doesn't mean they praise the baby Jesus in every song. No need to flip about it. Christian rock can also mean wholesome rock, as in not every other song is a cussing rant about drugs and getting down as much alcohol you can. Lay off. It's a great song and if you what to analyze the religious aspects, do it somewhere else.
Don't you have anything better to do? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/12/09
You know, flaming doesn't get your point across, nor does it make you look mature. Instead, it makes the individual seem like a complete, childish buffoon. Also, the arrogance of the anti-Religious posts are humorous. You have some contempt for Christianity, so automatically anyone who disagrees is a fool?
Considering that Anberlin is a Christian Rock group, I see no logic in others griping about a Christian influence. Obviously, the artist took inspiration from their doctrine and personal view. Take it up with the artists, since anything else would just be idle thoughts.
To the people injecting religion into this | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/10/09
Stop, please.
"Oh, they're Christian, so it's a Christian song. It uses words like, 'devil' and 'sin'"
You must be the kind of people that see Jesus in toast. For godsake (lawl), the name doesn't even relate to Christianity. Maybe you should go back to listening to Creed
