Boldness. | Reviewer: Jared Ray | 10/4/09
Don't be scared to stand up Christians. You can't stand aside and watch the world do wrong or accept the bare minimum. Someone needs to stand up and be bold about Christ, we need to stop being passive about letting people off the hook with their faith. Take every chance as an opportunity to share Christ's love.
Think of every person you encounter everday, whether you know them or not. A majority, sadly, don't know the Christ that paid for their eternal life in heaven. Be bold. Don't give up. I don't believe you can necessarily shove it down a person's throat, but definitely let it be known throughout the world. Give Him the glory. Be humble and magnify who He is, and the world will see Him and the price he paid for such a small you and me.
Live not for yourself, but instead, die to yourself and let God lead your life. I love you Jesus Christ.
I will keep you all in my prayers. Feel free to email me.
Love. | Reviewer: Joel | 5/17/09
Wonderful song. I think we should love God and people. I believe in Jesus Christ as the way, truth and life. But i also do strongly believe (ESPECIALLY if you claim to follow Jesus) that we should not be unloving when we disagree with someone who feels differently. I hope all who read this think about why you're living today cuz life is so wondeful. :) We all need love. God bless.

I believe this song is talking about the fact that 'we are all lost causes' in a sense. And that in this world there seems to be a never ending cycle of despair etc, even in people that we see as the protectors and ones to keep us on track, the 'patron saints'. And when we see these people that are meant to have it all together, we loose a little hope ourselves.
It is not questioning God at all, it's questioning ourselves. 'The people he took on the cross'. As a christian, I believe God did send his son to the cross to bare the burden of all our sins, even though we are not worthy. And so many of us take it all for granted, or just choose not to believe.
This is my point of view. I'm not pushing religion in anyones face, just stating what I believe, you believe what you want to :)
All those Christians or any other person with a religious view, listen to this song I'm about to write down and take a long hard look at yourselves; Listening to Freddie Mercury - Emery.

Your beliefs about God and Jesus.. i have nothing against it..just don't go telling people how to live. I believe in God and that there is a higher power, but no that he controls my life and that I have to devote my life to him or anything. Please don't go pressing your religious beliefs on anyone..thats just rude and you wouldn't want someone doing it to you. And on a different note, great song ive always liked Anberlin but when i heard them.. i was just blown away.
To All Those Who Think They Are Fine Without Christ | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/7/09
Everybody Needs help, They Might think they don't need help, but in reality they really need it; and they need it badly. They are fooled that they're fine, but they're not.
They need Jesus in their lives. Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father Except through Him.
You can't get to Heaven without Him. If you think you're fine by yourself, then I'm here to say that you are sadly wrong.
You will go to Hell if you die without believing and accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior.
But if you believed and accepted Him then you can enter His Kingdom. Just Be Sure you also accepted Him as your Lord and not just Savior.
Patron Saints | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/6/09
To Syd: "Patron saint" is a Catholic term for a saint who is prayed to as a protector of a certain group of people or for a specific cause. Anberlin, though, seems to be using it in the broader sense of someone who's in charge/the top dog/mvp (i.e. "I am so lost and confused that you could call me the patron saint of lost causes"). I think the fact that he uses "patron saint" is meant to demonstrates that his struggles are with religion and God. He views himself as a lost cause. The irony, though, is that there actually is a patron saint of lost causes (St. Jude). So that even for the seemingly hopeless there is hope. That's my take on things, at least...

I'm just replying to the post from 10/7/2008. It's cool that you like learning about religions. To clarify one of your ideas, Christianity has always been about worshiping God and Jesus. God is believed to be one power composed of three figures: God the father, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They are all equivalent in importance. Think of it as the US government; it is one body composed of three parts, only God doesn't have to deal with all the fighting and bodies contradicting each other :)
My opinion | Reviewer: Zinfer | 10/30/08
I LOVE THIS SONG! its so wonderfully put together with the vocals and instrumentals! Oh, and the lyrics are shweet. I am a baptist believer in Jesus Christ, and what i got from this song is that: He is not questioning God (as stated) but he is disgusted with how humans have been living in this world. We are living in a fallen world and have been sucked into the corruption of sin. He's saying that in this world, he is wicked and a worthless lost cause, and all he has to cling to is God.
Here we go. | Reviewer: :) | 10/7/08
I thought actually when i read the lyrics to this song, that they are talking about a bandmate or something that left, i don't know the history of anberlin.
Anyway, christianity used to be about worshiping "God" and loving Jesus, and respecting him, now adays, In my own opinion, they worship Jesus AND God,
which isn't worshiping anything, even a man, other than God, is sinful? or something like that? :/
I myself am neither athiest, nor christian, nor any other religion, in fact, I enjoy learning about religions more than hating them, although sometimes they seem very ignorant. however, Many religious people have proven themselves to be quite noble. I stopped believing in a God a long time ago, and started believing in myself, but I do not tell people there is no god, and I wouldn't, unless I was angry at them, and wanted them dead, and afraid of me. I tend to respect the beliefs of others, as long as they don't push their beliefs on me. This song is beautiful, amazing, whether it being about having faith in God or not, it is not directly about that, has many open ends for you to portray the meaning, it is a very well orchestrated song. :)
The only people I can't stand are ignorant people, other than ignorant people, your religion could be worshiping Hitler, I won't dislike you unless you make yourself a bad person.
