I love it when people get into debates and heated discussions over religion. It's just a song, and a good one. And I don't think it should matter how beautifully religious it is because it's still music. And Justin, people who don't believe in god don't have problems, and don't need help. I don't believe in god and i'm just fine. We don't all need something to believe in.

An outright masterpiece. anyone that did not think so, either misunderstood something or has dug their head so far in the sand that they no-longer know the problems of modern christianity.
This song is an illustration of Christians who misrepresent God, and given the fact that Stephen is STILL a Christian it reinforces the point that it doesn't question God, but the god represented by the people in the stories.
Take off your damn blinkers please! people who question God are people who need answers, don't ignore them, listen, take heed because the problems, they don't go away...
If you still disagree, I really do pray that you are confident that you know the Word and are helping people who don't know God's heart as well as you do because there are so many people with the same hurts who need to know God not faulty Christians.

like someone already stated, he isn't exactly questioning God. That is acknowledged in the song with words "we're not questioning God." Stephen is struggling with believing God's truth and goodness because of things he has seen and experienced from people he knew (hence the four stories). He questions those who consider themselves God's followers. He refers to mankind as "lost causes", because he doesnt see how everything we are doing on Earth could possibly be still going according to the plan God intends. I tried saying that as best as u could, its hard to explain, but thats the general concept
utterly amazing | Reviewer: Paige | 1/15/08
There are almost no words to describe how utterly amazing and addicting this song is. It is the perfect combo of music, lyrics, voice and choir. Stephen Christian is amazing with his vocals and the choir just adds to the beauty. Whether you believe in a supernatural power or not, this song is definitly worth adding to a playlist. Personally, I am having some difficulties believing in the Christian God I was raised to believe in. I can understand exactly the questions bought to God and his people. This song is just amazing and inspiring to the Christian and non-Christian alike. Truly truly a great work of art.

This song is not simply about questioning God, but about Stephen's personal lack of salvation and how he not only questioned God, but due to events in his life he turned away from Him completely. He explains completely in an interview (link below) that it is a combination of four stories tied into one. When he was little he didn't want to deal with God or the devil, he lost his faith in his teens and went into sin, but then came back because he saw true happiness in Jesus, and now he's just trying like the rest of us. Stephen said the objective in this album (Cities) was to "...expose a lot of skeletons and hopefully it will make it easier for someone to relate and eventually expose [and] get help for their own personal demons."

great | Reviewer: Pete | 11/6/07
I don't care for God, but this song on the other hand is amazing. EVERYONE should question God or whatever you believe in. It is irresponsible to believe in something without questioning it. Question the government, question God, question your schooling. Beautifully arranged song with a huge impact with chorus and vocals from Stephen.
OMG! | Reviewer: Flo~ | 11/5/07
This is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard. I think the choir really adds something to make it that much better.
And the lyrics are amazing too. I mean there are those times when I question God too.

Even in the rest of the song you can see he's not questioning God, he's questioning the people who say they "carry on his cause"
That in and of itself makes it a very insightful song. Everyone should do a little more questioning about the people who say they do God's work
