Sam I do agree with about 90% of what your saying, and though Layne Stayley was so messed up on drugs he was a lyrical,harmonious genius. As was/is Jerry Cantrell. I love, love there stuff!! However because I am an argumentative person you are wrong about one thing. They did change there image one time in the early to mid eightys. It was a natural progression from Eightys but rockers to there natural state of just damn good musicans!

I think this song exemplifies the feel of darker '90s rock. Other than Man in the Box, this song really is an example of Alice in Chains' best music. Layne Staley's singing is like Ozzy Osbourne's: dark and strung-out, but nobody, and I mean nobody, can sing quite like him.

I really like this song, and I find it depressing that more people my age are too caught up with beer bongs and generic hip-hop instead of relishing the music we grew up with, whether we bought the albums, or just frequented MTV. Alice in Chains represents something golden to me:integrity. They never sold out. They never changed their image. Layne may have chosen the wrong kind of escape, but, he is dearly missed.
I also like the part on Singles where they perform this song.
By the way, Nickelback is just about as generic as they come. Try listening to AIC, Nirvana, or Pearl Jam, Karen.

ok well this song is amazing along with any old aic. NICKELBACK would ruin this song. hell jerry didnt even sing it in the first place. no one could cover this song and sound like layne. it aint gonna happen. no one can do it.

Great lyrics, great vocals, and great sound can't ask for more except maybe Jerry Cantrell singing this song with Nickelback....Awesome!!!
