The Reviews about Happiness By The Kilowatt (page 2/ 2)

good song | Reviewer: anonymous | 1/26/08
as most of you probably think, this is a song about a certain lack of happiness, although he thinks he has reached happiness he still can not determine what the feeling is meant to be like, hence the first couple of lines "I always imagined it something more"
But it seems as though we've all forgotten the lines:
In a hail of sparks
And a tangle of wires
Everything went wrong
which appear to be the center of this song, and from then on seems to be in some kind of mental coma or depression and is causing him to question whether it might have been worth it or not, or it could simply just be the guy being electricuted or something like that
who knows
probably just the writers
all in all a brilliant song

Im not sure on what the song Is about, but when you said about doing D.I.Y, that Isn't true, I know It probally relates to that, but the song Is sung as a metophor, seen as what you said, but It's on about somthin different, If you get my drift.

Sweet song! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/2/07
Its actually based on a story called 'The Euphio Question" by Kurt Vonnegut. Basically a machine is invented that gives people complete euphoria when it is switched on. Its also where the phrase "happiness by the kilowatt' comes from.

This is an amazing song. The lyrics dive into the depths of the subconscious of many people. Mostly people who live each day telling themselves that if they just have the best home, the best car, that they will be happy. However, it's impossible to fill the voids of a loveless marriage, or an empty heart with material goods. Perhaps spending all those years in university doesn't mean you're any better off than people that doesn't, you just don't have the financial debt.
