The Reviews about Boiled Frogs (page 1/ 3)

Boiled Frogs a perfect metaphor to our current crisis | Reviewer: dave karney | 10/16/2008

This is a perfect song not only to describe a shitty job but how our rights have been slowly taken away over the past several decades. If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water it will jump out but if you put it in luke-warm water and slowly turn up the heat, the frog won't know what's going on till it's too late. Michael C. Ruppert and Fromthewilderness.com has cleary documented this the past 10 years or so.

My youth is slipping, my youth is slipping away | Reviewer: Ryan | 5/21/2008

i find these lyrics kinda connect with me, i kinda grew up with my dad being a violent drunk, and i left him, and he's my worst enemy. and it feels like im losing youth and becoming more like him. its real tough but the lyrics work for me, in my msn name haha

ITs about how people work so hard at there jobs and at first the job seems wonderful and slowly the workload gets more and more until u have the shittyest job and after years of working there u cant quit so u fucked urself....and now ur life is pretty much wasted

Watch OUT! | Reviewer: heartworkK3 | 3/1/2008

hey mary don't listen to this new shit even though it's still good. goooo way back to the album Watch Out! and this song isn't about a tin man it's symbolism... for the dreams you gather as a child being lost in a safety and routine.

i love alexisonfire, though i have only heard a few of their songs. This was the first song by alexisonfire that i had ever heard and i love it. everybody that loves this song should also listen to rough hands.. thats pretty wicked-bad too..

The title is boiled frogs because in the last few years of his fathers employment before retirement his job became increasingly harder and harder. his mother went to the work place and talked to some younger kids who called his fathers generation "boiled frogs". Because "If you drop a frog in boiling water it will jump out right away, If you drop it in room temperature water and slowly heat it, the frog will stay in and die" This is comparable to his father who would've quit his job if it was this tough in the beginning. But since it was slowly made harder and harder he would stay.
