Growing up, I loved Bobby Vinton's "Mr. Lonely," an oldie from the 1960's. I heard this remake of it on the radio, and thought it was quite clever. Apparently, Akon got Mr. Vinton's permission to use the song, and sped up Mr. Vinton's original version, which explains the "chipmunk" sound. This is definitely one of the more clever remakes of an oldie.
