The Reviews about Thrash Unreal (page 2/ 6)
------ performed by Against Me!

pretty fuckin life changing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/14/08

I am not going to lie, every time I hear this song the music, lyrics, and rhythm travel through my veins filling every fiber of me with their music. Sure, it's the classic pop song, verse chorus verse chorus solo but hey there hi there! it's the message in the song don't you understand? "There ain't no Johnny comin home to share a bed with her, but she doesn't care" Society doesn't set the standard of happiness. One can be completely content with one's self even if they are doing things that may not seem ideal for other people. AND SHE DOESNT CARE. Live your life do what you want. Be who you are. That's what the song is saying. I wish that they portrayed the video differently though... it's kind of like a Paris Hilton meets Lindsay Lohan party girl thing going on... not exactly what I picture in my head you know?

Ive got an idea | Reviewer: nicKelly | 1/24/08

ok i know this sounds stupid, but mabye you guys will agree
you know how some records are made into movies?
i think the record new wave should be a movie too
its songs just work

and this specific song i think is meant for the people who sit in the bars all day drinking, the ones that give off blank stares all day.

Now Ijust came to search for the lyrics so I could show my mom... and yes this song helps us cope with lots of things and music is good in general... But Major Label this or that... if you don't like it, don't listen to it, don't post. Yah freedom of speech... But I hope you have better things to do then sit on the web n bicker about major label this and that. Music is music... You there is recreational sports you could do that would be better for you then bickering over music. It's music we choose to interpret it how ever we want, but I don't like country so does that mean I'm going to flog shania twain or anyone else no. Cause theres better things to do in life... Thank you all have a great night... And check out the Movie Mad Money for good kicks... Wonderfully funny.

Seriously? | Reviewer: Paisley | 1/14/08

Are you guys serious? Look at what your saying. You're not special for listening to Against Me! before they got signed to a major lable! And you say they are doing it for themselves???? COME ON!! By signing to a major lable more people can hear their music and be inspired or be able to cope.
This song is like the ode to my mother as weird as it sounds.
And this song has helped me to cope with her alcohalism.
It helps to remind me that i cant change her.
Music is a great way for people to cope with what ever they are going through
and when a band signs to a bigger label they reach more people....
So who's being selfish, the band or the people that want to say they knew them before they were big?

I'm in Phoenix and only recently learned about Against Me! on the local 'alternative' radio station. If it weren't for the new label I never would have found out about them and now I can't get enough. I just bought the two of their albums, and I'm sure the band will appreciate that, because it did so without any infuence upon me other than hearing their music, which means they deserve it and earned it unconditionally.

mmhmm | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/8/08

Dont like it...Dont listen to it. Bands change just like anything else. I personally think the song is a little too poppy, but it has a fun enough feel to it. Fun enough to make me want to know what this guy is singing. Pretty good song.

Love it. | Reviewer: xTCOBx | 12/29/07

In a response to the "eldouche" comment, first off, learn to write. did you ever take middle-school grammar? and second, the most important, it doesn't matter what they do. they write lyrics about whatever they want because there are entitled to it. "baby, i'm an anarchist" is about a guy professing to his woman (or maybe former) that he's torn up cause she wasn't compatible with him and he's explaining why. so relax and enjoy the music. if you were a starving musician, wouldn't you like a bone thrown your way? put yourself in their shoes you anti-conformity conformist.

C'mon ! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/28/07

What the hell are you talking about ?! Does it really make a difference if they're under a major label ? I've listened Against Me! for so long and IMO the music is still great. Dunno why do you feel the music is changed after they've moved to a bigger label, 'cause I don't really see the difference ?

a new fan | Reviewer: Skywolf | 12/25/07

I was just browsing over the postings here and read about people thinking that bands are "sell outs" because they sign to a major label. I think it's probably more beneficial to bands to sign to a major label; I live in Toledo, OH and I recently heard Against Me! for the first time, I had never heard of them before, but was blown away by their sound and their lyrics, I'm guessing that if they hadn't signed with a major label, then I'd probably not of heard them.
