It's True | Reviewer: AzCullen | 6/18/09
I think this song is absoulutely amazing from the voice of Steven Tyler to the awesome licks of Joe Perry. But most importantly in the song it talks about a subject that not many people talk about that is being sexually abused in this case it's Janie. This song let's us know that our world is not perfect and that there our kids out there who are being sexually abused by there parents even though some of us choose not to beleive it, these kinds of things our happening and i'm glad someone actually chose to step up and say this is what's going on! So thankyou Aerosmith for being true I love you guys!!
BEST SONG EVER!! | Reviewer: Jenny (Not Janie ;) ) | 11/17/08
I am a huge Aerosmith fan. Most of Aerosmith's stuff is about sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, but this song is just way too good. They totally outdid theirselves. It's the last thing you would've expected, and it's just amazing! It shows what can happen when somebody stays silent too long about something like that. It raises awareness about those types of things. And the music video is incrediblly haunting. Like in a good way. Joe Perry says that after that song was released, the band received loads of fanmail thanking them for writing that song because most other bands have never dared to touch that subject. And they did. Kudos to them!
Brilliant Song | Reviewer: Jess | 8/3/08
The song "Janie's got a gun" is amazing, it lets you know how she is feeling and it really has depth within the lyrics, I think it was aerosmiths best song. Well done Aerosmith, through this song, you have become one of my favourite bands! :)

A new song for history | Reviewer: Andrew Keister | 8/13/07
It's a good thing Aerosmith released this song, not only because it's a great song, but because it tells us about things that are happining everywhere in the world.
Nailed it! | Reviewer: Susan Thompson | 7/3/07
What I like most about this song is the counterpoint between the depressing mood of song's message and the upbeat instrumental presentation. Janie is the hero and all victim's of abuse can rejoice in the victory.
A landmark recording and composition. | Reviewer: Derek Mok | 6/16/07
Not just Aerosmith's greatest song, possibly in the Top 5 greatest rock songs of the '80s and one of the greatest modern recordings. Steven Tyler's non-traditional chord progressions and killer keyboard work, Joe Perry's acoustic-electric solo, Tom Hamilton's rock-solid bass. Bruce Fairbairn's production is fantastic as well -- the arrangement sounds not quite rock, not quite orchestral, not quite blues, not quite pop. Classic video, as well.
Great Song | Reviewer: Ewan | 4/17/07
Aerosmith has written some great songs but none as good as Janie's Got a Gun. The lyrics in this song are amazing and tell a good story. This is a sad song but a masterpiece.
Well done | Reviewer: Amy | 12/27/05
This is a bloody brilliant song!!! It has so much power in the lyrics that I can't help but listen to it whenever I am feeling down. The music fits in great with the theme of the song and the way the lyrics are delivered. It may have been protested about when it was released because of the content, but it made people more aware about circumstances like this. Another great success to Aerosmith. WELL DONE to Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, Joey Kramer and any other people who helped to write and produce this song :)
