The Reviews about The Visitors (page 1/1)
------ performed by Abba

ballet track too | Reviewer: Martin | 11/2/2008

Great keyboard work and vocals; the hazy, droning synth lines invoke an ominous atmosphere. The lyrics could be about Soviet dissidents, but also about dark, old memories. One who did appreciate it was the famous Swedish choreograpoher Birgit Cullberg, in the mid-eighties she did a tv ballet show (for Swedish public tv, I just saw it in a rerun showing) based on a dozen Abba tracks and produced a very powerful, surreal scenery for this song.

great dance song | Reviewer: gdub | 7/16/2008

This was one of my favorite songs to dance to as a baby homo in the early '80s. I would stop all conversation, put down my drink and head for the floor as soon as I heard those first eerie sounds. The longer the re-mix, the better. They played it in all the gay dance bars — LOVE IT!

Frida & Benny thriller | Reviewer: Pedro | 4/16/2008

This is perhaps Frida's best interpretation, along with Should I Laugh or Cry and Like an Angel Passing Through My Room: unexpected, strange, makes you pay attention to the mysterious story (the police bangs at the door or is it about ETs?); Benny and his keyboards haunt the atmosphere 'til it cracks up as the title says... A surprise even to those used to the Abba sound.

Long Play | Reviewer: Joe | 4/8/2008

I actually had this album on LP. Your right, this song was so far ahead of it's time. This has to be one of the most listened to songs, for me, that I have. The symphony like over tones really reflect how advanced and complex Abba's mucis is.

Visitors ahead of their time | Reviewer: Craig | 6/14/2007

This song has never gotten due credit. At the time of release it was too edgy for pop stations, and not rough enough for hard rock enthusiasts. But the song epitomizes techno-pop at its finest. It would be a popular song in any dance club, even today.
