Counting my blessings every day... | Reviewer: Franklin | 7/6/13
I am a 50-something and as a teenager I watched ABBA came from nowhere and redefined pop music for over a decade. Three days ago my wife and I went, at the insistence of our two young teenagers, to that "nowhere" called Stockholm and its new ABBA Museum. One of the sets shows the picture of the actual kitchen from which the song came about, with Benny watching their little girl run off to school. This must be a scene that is replayed a billion times across the world every day and this global village has brough my children's generation closer to ours and our "nowhere" called Hong Kong to ABBA's "nowhere". On the tram back to our hotel we ran into a music teacher who has taken his class to Sweden for two weeks and he told us that many youngsters in the US are singing ABBA in school music classes. Slipping through my fingers will cement another generation with not only their children to come but their parents and will make all those who have heard it more appreciative of our love for our children and parents, wherever they may be. My favorite ABBA song and I am so glad that seeing the scene of it was all by chance of our children's insistence. Really warmed us up. Enjoy and share...
I let precious time goes by | Reviewer: Silvia | 8/7/12
This song must be the best of ABBA.I grew up listening to their music. When they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the song "Waterloo", I was living with my parents in Zollikon, Zurich in Switzerland. Two years later , we came back to our country in South-east Asia. After I got married, I've been living in different countries as my husband is a diplomat. Now I've got two daughters and we are back again in Switzerland. When I hear this song I really miss my mother who passed away 19 years ago. Life is too short . We cannot turn the clock back and we should try to be happy at present.

She is funny. I love her laughter. TIme together is precious, How to capture time to together. I am so glad for her prescence in my life. She has shared somuch with me. I feel like she is slipping through my fingers. One moment she is gone and the next she is here. I feel like I have no control over her and at times this is frustrating. Love you lots Megan. Mom
Sarah and Natalie my reasons for living | Reviewer: Shirley | 5/2/12
Time goes by so quickly, I always thought my girls would be with me forever, how wrong I am. Sarah is now 21 and moving into a house of her own with her soon to be husband, and Natalie although young is living with her boyfriend and expecting her first child, my first grandchild. I will treasure every second of my grandchilds life as I am fully aware of how quickly time goes. I love my girls more than anything in the world. Nothing comes near to the love you have for your own children. The song slipping through my fingers makes me cry every time I hear it, it makes you realise you can't turn back the hands of time so treasure the time you have in front of you. Love you Sarah and Natalie always will.
My Son | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/27/12
Although this song speaks about the loss of experiences with a daughter--just substitute male gender words and it holds true for the relationship between a parent and son--my son died just six months ago and this song could be about him--the loss is greater than any I have ever expereinced, but I know that life is good and there are blessings in every thing that comes our way.
MY LOVE | Reviewer: Angie | 4/7/12
I have five daughters all teenagers but one, i look at them all and i wonder where did time go?, one in college and i only get to see her here and there, on break time, i miss her, but i still have the others with me TEMPORARELY, i know eventually the r going all to make their life and spread their wings, one already has, is a wonderful feeling to see all ur hard work show in their independence but at the same time it leaves a sad sensation within u. I just pray to god that they fight well in this cruel world and be happy in life. I LOVE THEM, after they r gone all i'll have is my friend, my companion, my lover, my soulmate, MY HUSBAND. Cherish ur kids, ur spouse, ur family, UR LIFE. Today u r here tomorrow u may not.
my bleautiful daughter | Reviewer: mama cloie
I watched mama MIA and the scripted setup pulled a truth from me that I keep trying to find a way to express to my beautiful daughter. This is it. Nothing comes so close or honest in how I have felt about her from the first moment we met. I failed her like all humans do. I will still work to rebuild that and only pray she remembers before it went wrong. This song was our growing up together, exploring and loving. To Nakiah my love infinitely. Mama
Not just for daughters. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/7/12
I don't have any daughters but I have 2 sons who are away at college. Neither are likely to move home again, apart from short visits at summer break and Christmas. The sentiments in this song are every bit as strong for those of us who have sons as well as those of you who have daughters. Make the most of every minute with your children. An empty nest is a very lonely place.
Lovely!! | Reviewer: Emily | 8/2/11
My mum told me that she dedicates this song to me. I always cry when I hear it. She lives in England and I live in the US. So only getting to see her twice a year makes me super sad. When I asked her, "if I could be any age you want me to be what age would it be?" She said 5 or 6 so she could see me go to school. I hope my younger sister fills the vould. I love you mum!!!!
In memory of my mother | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/10/11
I heard this song yesterday for the first time and it made me cry also It is really beautiful and has brought a new meaning to the mother /daughter relationship. I wonder whether my mother felt any of this pain? I dedicate this record to her memory as she has now dearly departed. I also dedicate this record to my beautiful nieces-who fill my life with much joy.
It's Sad | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/24/10
This song is EXTREMELY sad song and every time I hear it I can feel the tears coming on I was faced with I difficult situation just under three years ago and wish it could go back to the old times this song just makes you realise how fast time flies and it just brings back old memories for me but is one of my favourite songs for this reason as well my daughter. Went to school like this the other morning and I was worrying about all day until she came home with a jolly little smile on her face the next day when she came home she told me that she had to miss ten minutes of her playtime five with all the girls for being too loud in the toiletsand five for running around the hall when the teacher went out I mean I thought well why did teacher go out of the hall and practically leave them in the hall on their own when they are only five years old i mean what do you expect you ninnie
Touched and old memories | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/20/10
I was faced with a difficult decision a year and a half ago. Either I leave my old primary school (I was in the last year anyway) and all of my friends to move to Cornwall. And for some reason, I did move. I miss them all so much. But on my last day... I used the chorus especially the part: Slipping through my fingers all the time and I also combined it with the song: "Walks along the Seine" though as I lived near the Thames in Surrey, I changed it to: "Walks along the Thames". I REALLY miss my friends and hearing this song for the first time since I moved touched my heart and I cried!
Thanks Guys :)
My wonderful , beautiful, best friend and daughter Kelly | Reviewer: Debbie | 9/19/10
I watched Mamma Mia for the first time last night. Someting Kelly and I planned to do before she left for University, one of a hundred things we had planned once her college exams had finished and she was on her Summer holiday.
We didnt get to do half the things we planned.
Infact after a stupid argument we hardly spoke for the last two weeks she was at home.
She left for London yesterday and hearing this song for the first time last night broke my heart.
Make the most of every second because children are so precious and the time goes by so quickly.
I feel so lost without her,and will never be able to hear this song again without tears. What a beautiful song. LOVE YOU KELS MUM XXXXXX
