WTF are you talking about? | Reviewer: Santiago Sigler Relgis | 2/8/13
To me this song talks about the NIGHT and states of mind, and feelings, and paranoia when you are on something, you understand me, dont you? And you are with some girl and you are out of coke ,drinking and you re scared of shadows and noises, and you hear a dog bark in distance....you hear someone's baby cry.......
From Argentina , we salute you....
The Song Is Most Definitely About A Killer | Reviewer: Greg | 1/20/13
It's very obvious the song is about a killer when the lyrics are listened to, which is why Richard Ramirez identified so strongly with the song, and is why the song resonated so completely with him.
However, I think it was irresponsible and asinine of Malcolm (in a half-assed attempt to do damage control)to lie about the meaning of the song. He lied, and he knows he lied, and everyone hearing the lie knew immediately he was lying...except for the most gullible and people who weren't familiar with the song.
Malcolm should have admitted what the song was about instead of lying, there would have been more dignity in it. He could have then gone on to tell the interviewer that the song is fiction and fantasy and was not responsible for making Ramirez murder...just as the Johnny Cash lyric "I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" was not responsible for making someone kill for no reason, or Bob Marley's song "I Shot The Sheriff" was not responsible for causing someone to actually shoot a sheriff, etc.
The truth about "Night Prowler" | Reviewer: random guy | 3/20/12
All right people hear is the truth, after ramerez went on his killing spree, police found one of Rameriz's AC/DC hat's at one of the sceans, media then linked the band and song to his motive. Yes Malcome lied about it being about some guy sneaking into his ex's room. But clearly Rameriz was sick in the head to begin with, plus articles say by 18 he drank and did drugs with lead to his santanic worshipping.
AC/DC made me do it! | Reviewer: kirkj | 3/6/11
I was listening to "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap"... and, it was like I was in a trance. The next thing you know, I found myself standing in the driveway at my neighbor's house. I promised to wash their van and mow their lawn for only a nickle! Damn you AC/DC! Damn you to hell!
freakin idiots | Reviewer: Tim "Night Prowler" Halford | 6/30/10
I am not going to just call you an idiot jus... f it, you ARE an idiot if you think a song causes anyone to kill. Buy stuff, romance your gf, get people excited, even piss people off, you bet... but kill? Gimme a break. One (1) freak finds his "interpretation" of the song resonating with something already floating around in his head. Don't judge one small event as the "reason" he stalked and killed, but the whole life this guy lead. Use some logic.
RE: Definitely About Death | Reviewer: eoj | 5/6/10
Yeah I think it is lame they tried pass it off as about a boy sneaking into his girlfriends room without her parents knowing. "you don't feel the steel until the knife is hanging out your back" that sounds like killing to me, they should of just admitted it and said it didn't cause Ramierez to kill, he would have killed listening to Mary had a little lame. The only thing AC/DC is guilty of with that song is mimicing the Rolling Stones song Midnight Rambler, which is the same theme with similar images.
REALLY | Reviewer: Vince | 5/6/10
even if this song is about harming or killing someone who gives a shit? its a song, an amazing one too. ya no the LA firefight? they planned that because of the movie heat, but is heat to blame? no not at all
ramirez | Reviewer: Bill | 12/27/09
Richard Ramirez is such an idiot...killing people over a song. I just watched a special on him, he grew up in a Catholic home, but then converted to Satanism...watched someone kill, slept in cemetaries...is that normal? AC/DC shouldn't be blamed for that.
RE: Definitely About Death | Reviewer: Killerkat | 4/4/09
Dude, why are you blaming AC/DC? I don't think a simple song that is obviously about a boyfriend with his girlfriend should be taken the wrong way. Think about this, are Bon/Brian actually literally on a highway to hell? No. And did the events of Squealer actually happen? Not quite, it was about Angus and Bon's ex wife. Do you have any actual proof?
Definitely About Death | Reviewer: intelleshawl | 3/7/09
AC DC tried to say that this song is not about a killer entering your room at night and killing or harming you. Instead they said that it's about a young man paying a visit to his girlfriend at night and not harming her. YEAH RIIIIGGGHHHTT! This is totally about hurting someone and that is why Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker liked this song so much.
RE: night prowler played backwards | Reviewer: dartigen | 12/27/07
A lot of songs say a lot of things when played backwards. It doesn't mean that there's any deeper meaning to the song (unless that's the band's intent, which is a whole other kettle of fish).
