what on earth | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/9/07
ohhh my god...some people are clueless. The Noose About G. Bush wtf... what kinda of an interpretation is that :S have u noticed the album is called 13th STEP !!!!! the entire album refers to drug addiction and the different stages addicts pass threw as well as the many different perceptions of the addict and those around them.
not everything maynard writes has some hidden secret message, accept somethings on face value!!!
another interpretation | Reviewer: K8 | 5/6/07
I've listened to this song QUITE a bit as well and (earthworm) that's definately a possibility. I don't know, I always saw it as a metaphor, but I'm not so sure.
It could just be that he is speaking directly about Jesus/christianity/organized religion as a whole and how many people have died in the name of someone else's beliefs.
but then again, that whole paragraph in and of itself sounds like a metaphor for the bush administration. :)~
About the song The Noose performed by A Perfect Circle | Reviewer: Heather | 4/29/07
I listened to this song a bunch of times, and Im pretty sure it is about addiction. The person finally came clean, she worked hard to acquire this halo, and now she's confident, and sitting on a cloud. The people around her are glad to see this improvement, and she's starting to get a little cocky, thinking she's stronger than them all for everything she's been through. However, she hurt so many people on her road down into addiction, and screwed up so many peoples' lives (essentially killing them), that now she's got to figure out how to make "amends to the dead". She'd like to pretend that all her memories are just someone else's "atrocious stories", but the narrator brings her back to reality. And now, her new-found halo slips down around her neck to choke her.
wtf! | Reviewer: kankuro | 4/20/07
ok so i read the first review on this page and it pissed me off. i love a perfect circle as much as the next person but honestly what the hell would make you think that this song is a protest song against the bush administration. like seriously
interesting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/11/07
If anyone could ever try to make an accurate telling of a song writen by Maynard (aside from Maynard) I think trying is futile but the war? bush? Not this song Maynard is however a genius long live the free mind and free harted
I agree with "A Bird" | Reviewer: Jayson | 4/1/07
I find it very insulting when people try to analyze the music and it is completely off.
For example:
Judith
3 Libras
Thinking Of You
The Noose
The Hollow
Actuality:
Judith - Song about his mother having strong faith even after she was paralyzed and then died. Maynard is singing about why God took and what she ever did to deserve any of that.
3 Libras - 9 of Keenan's buddies were Libras, he picked three of them to talk about and he made them guess which three they were.
Thinking of You - masturbating to the thought of anal sex. read the lyrics if you don't believe me. or Watch aMOTION DVD.
Believe it or not "earthworm" the song is not about fucking Bush. No matter how much you dislike the Bush administration you liberal fuck, everything does not translate into being about Bush, dumbass. Goes shoot yourself and feed the real "earthworms" who are actually productive to this planet.
APC the noose | Reviewer: norwood | 3/3/07
the first time i heard this song i was fucking and i just put it on repeat. this song is really what i wish APC should base around. Its great for coming down or to chill you out and really put you in a dissasociative trip throught the whole song. Fucking Great piece of work.
Brilliant | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/2/07
Not every song he writes has to have a certain numbers of dimensions and depths and meanings, perhaps some can be about just expressing a feeling, or an event, like "the outsider"
this song is absolutly brilliant, it mends, and hurts so deep at the same time! 5 out of 5
Killer | Reviewer: Colin | 3/2/07
this song in my eyes is about a killer saying he found the way of god and is a new person. the song is saying how that is impossible and that he'll be hung for his actions, saying murder is unforgiveable even by his god.
