The Reviews about Fiddle And The Drum (page 1/1)
------ performed by A Perfect Circle

wow | Reviewer: spencer | 12/14/2007
I am a long time fan of tool, a perfect circle, puscifer and any other project of maynard keenan.
The thing that continually blows me away is there versatile and unique songs. This proves to me beyond any doubt that maynard is one of the greatest artist of his generation, and maybe, ever. please, immerse yourself, listen to these songs if you have not already: The Pot-Tool, Choke-Puscifer, and then listen to Fiddle and the Drum. I know joni mitchell wrote it, but it is a testament to the talent of this band

    Old Lady's Viewpoint | Reviewer: Kathleen Rhodes | 6/16/2007

I'm 56 years old, a long-time Joni Mitchell fan and a jazz/folk singer myself. I have often sung a capella so I know how difficult it can be. It is an amazing thing to me that I have never heard this song! My daughter (20) played it for me and I was astounded! So beautiful, so haunting. The two voices overplay wonderfully and we played it over and over - putting in as many extra harmonies as we could. It is sad that my generation misses such talented people simply by being too set in our ways to try listening to newer material -- or in this case, older material by newer groups. I have not yet heard any other songs by 'Perfect Circle' but I will. I'd be willing to buy their cd for this song alone. The only comment I also have is I don't believe 'Perfect Circle" used the word 'America' in thier version.

My Mistake | Reviewer: Kathleen Rhodes | 6/16/2007

I just listened to the song again and they do say "Oh America my friend." As my daughter would say, my bad. Again, a beautifully done song. It has inspired this old lady to open her ears to others.

    Iceland | Reviewer: ToGGi | 5/31/2007

This is basicly like every song written in Iceland in the 1000 or something :)
I'm always listening to theese songs, called "þríund" or "áttund" I dont remember wich.
Anyways, I love this song. ^-^

    great version | Reviewer: robin | 2/8/2007

but i still prefer Joni Mitchell's original...it's still a-capella, but her's is the original, and that makes it better

still...maynard and billy did definitely put their own spin on it and definitely made it, if nothing else, creepier

    Very nice... | Reviewer: Jessica | 9/22/2005

The harmonies, the bare vocals...its a very old school classic. Reminds me of an old 40's or 50's battle hymn or something. Makes you feel a bit patriotic actually, or at least it does to me.

They surprised me with this one...and it was a good surprise! I Liked it. Maynard's vocals are beautiful here.

Fiddle and the Drum | Reviewer: Lolli | 8/22/2005

This song is so beautiful.. the way it's sung, with the harmonies, and the lyrics......

    I love this song! :)
