(AFI) (page 6/ 6) The best dand EVAH!!!!! | Reviewer: Jennifer Almodovar | 10/6/05 To anyone who has not listened to AFI, they totally should, this band will change your life forever the way it has done mine, and not in a bad way!!! Their lyrics are so deep and meaningful, you can just relate to them, you feel like they're talking about you. AFI's got songs for every single of your feelings and music for every single one of your moods. They are simply amazing, I have never loved a band as much as I love AFI, they've taught me so much. Words are not enough to describe how great and amazing this band is. It gives me chills just to talk about their greatness!!! I love many bands, and I am a person who does not judge music, and there are amazing bands out there, but when it comes to comparing them to AFI, AFI is 10 thousand times better than them. They would be better if you could actually understand what Davey Havok was saying. Imean really have you tried figuring out what he's saying? it's pretty hard. Rarely can I ever say that I like every single song on a CD, but I like every song on Sing the Sorrow. There lyrics, when you can understand what Davey Havok is saying, are poetic and awesome. The Truth About A.F.I. | Reviewer: Phoebe | 8/13/04 This band is truely excellent! Davey Havok's (Frontman and Lyricist)lyrics are powerful! Each day I listen to them I am still amazed at how in one song, one band can get so much thought out! If you really take the time to listen to the music you will soon realize how intelegent the memebers of this band are! Half of the words he uses are so intelectual that I have to look them up! They are very smart and purely love what they do. The come straight out of California and grew up listening to hardcore rock bands such as Queen, the Misfits, and Joy Division. Guitar-player/song writer Jade Puget has taken his love for hardcore rock and planted it deep in the heart of his amazing rock and roll progressions. The most recent album Sing The Sorrow has done extremely well due to their change in record label. This album has a twist of electronic sound. Don't let that turn you off because throughout A.F.I.'s ten years of existance their style has changed rapidly! If you love rock and roll I gaurantee there is one A.F.I. album, EP, or vinyll that you will be able to enjoy! This band is what hardcore is about! They take those rock and roll songs and melodies and make them enjoyable to listen to and at the same time, for those who like to take their fan-hood to the next level, they educate in the lyrics of their songs! These guys know what they are doing and they really do what they do the right way! (They are really good friends with Rancid, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, ect. Their home town was a happening place. All of these bands went to highschool together!) I hope you take the time to listen, you never know, they couls become your new favorite band!
