America`s World-dominating tendency in one song | Reviewer: Fernando | 2/19/05 This song is an excellent example of how "America" (AKA United States of America) has developed since the end of World War 2, and specially since the collapse of the Soviet Union, an all-out offensive policy of World domination, may it be with economic, cultural or military action. Just a fine example is how US natives refer to their country as "America", when America is a whole continent... USA`s culture is not a product of the world, as some guy (can`t remember his name) said...and the White House doesn`t seem to have any remorse for their genocidal actions against any culture who dares contradict them (examples: Vietnam, Corea, Afghanistan, Irak, South America....and a whole lot more)... So, to speak about the song, I don´t know what the verses in german, which are most of the lyric, say, but the video clip does speak for itself... It is more poignant about the way a lot of people who aren't American feel, we like you but we don't have to be you. US foreign policy seems to be your country must be the same as America - McDonalds in Moscow is ridiculous for instance, same as seeing Coca cola in India - mad as paint! They only see how American culture and America's political power affects them and other countries while they don't get to really see the people who are America. The world created America. Americans are from everywhere. Our culture is the mixing of every culture in the rest of the world. I don’t think any educated person needs to be explained how US policies different during World War II compared to now. Besides the fact many people who are for the war make the common argument that you make. In the end Iraqi will be better the US will restore and re-build them like Japan and Germany was. This is incorrect not only because those wars didn’t involve the need for oil, Halliburton’s (Chief executive of the company is Dick Cheney) profit directly from the sanctions placed on Iraq and the its development of pipelines into Afghanistan during the war in Afghanistan, the Carlyle Group (consisiting of Former World Leaders and Washington Insiders, such as Bush) making Billions in “The War on Terrorism,” and the list goes on about the profiting from the Iraqi “war”. But remember during WWII the US saw a potential threat. I could type for hours about this, but I’m clearly not going to. Any person would know that the Franklin D. Roosevelt’s policies are nothing like George W. Bush’s policies. The US entered WWII without the intentions to benefit from anything. Do you seriously think the US will restore Iraqi.
