When He Returns Lyrics - Bob Dylan
Review The Song (2)
The iron hand it ain't no match for the iron rod
The strongest wall will crumble and fall to a mighty God
For all those who have eyes and all those who have ears
It is only He who can reduce me to tears
Don't you cry and don't you die and don't you burn
Like a thief in the night, he'll replace wrong with right
When he returns.
Truth is an arrow and the gate is narrow that is passes through
He unreleased His power at an unknown hour that no one knew
How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice ?
How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the wilderness ?
Can I cast it aside, all this loyalty and this pride ?
Will I ever learn that there'll be no peace, that the war won't cease
Until He returns ?
Surrender your crown on this blood-stained ground, take off your mask
He sees your deeds, He knows your needs even before you ask
How long can you falsily and deny what is real ?
How long can you hate yourself for the weakness you conceal ?
Of every earthly plan that be known to man, He is unconcerned
He's got plans of his own to set up His throne
When He return.

Every word of "When He Returns" fits well, into this prophetic song that Bob Dylan wrote and sings. Amazingly, it seems more relevant to the time we are living in now, than when it was first written. (with threats of nuclear warfare coming closer, men's hearts failing them because of fear, more often, and multitudes in the valley of decision, while nation rise up against nations, and false Christs arise more frequently trying to lead people astray. The clock is ticking in the Mid Eastern Mediterranean for the times of the gentiles to come a close; giving way to when the eyes of God's chosen people, the remnant of Israel shall be opened and saved. While I thought about this. Glory Cloud Revelation was inspired to write the following poem inspired by, "When He Returns". Thank you, again, Bob Dylan, for writing such a magnificent song.
The Coming of the Lord
@2013 Glory Cloud Revelatio
Oh, on the wings of a great bird,
The woman will find nourishment in the wilderness is what I heard...
And the earth shall swallow up the flood,
As she bathes in the warm sun light of Gods holy love.
Oh, seed of Abraham tossed and turning
Through early winters snow flakes,
Saviour Messiah saves us from hells burning;
Reconciling us to the Lord of Host, forgiving our mistakes.
Were hidden safe and sound within His mercy and grace.
While most of Gods creation sinks out of place
Bringing His judgment and wrath for being vessels of disgrace;
While we are hidden till the dragon is caught in the chase.
Suddenly Messiah comes with eyes like a flaming fire
Gathering His chosen ones from every nation and family,
Opening the way supernaturally for us to see
Final fulfillment of all prophecy!
And the Spirit and the bride say, come!.
Those who overcome see the Son
In all His glory and fame;
As they fall to their knees calling His name.

....When He Returns is an inspirational scriptural sound song that has the right musical rhythmic flow and atmosphere. Bob Dylan's voice is at it's best as he sings this song like nobody else could.
....In verse one we find the meaning of "The iron hand ain't no match for the iron rod" in Revelation 2:27 'And He shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers' Then, the next verse, "The strongest wall will crumble and fall to Almighty God" emphasizes the power of God even more. When you know the Lord, it is awesome, not frightening, to see that He is so powerful. It makes you feel secure and protected from enemies.
..."It's only He (the Lord) who could reduce me to tears" may have more than one meaning, from my own experience when the Lord reveals something so beautiful, like giving Himself through Jesus Christ to be the atonement Lamb. It can many times bring tears to my eyes thinking about what He must have suffered,and to know that He loved us that much!
...When he says, "Don't you cry" I think what he is thinking about are the ones who are "weeping" because they waited too long to be ready for the coming of the Lord.
It reminds me of the wise and foolish virgins, the wise virgins had oil (symbolizing the Holy Spirit) in their lamps. The foolish virgins wanted some of their oil. The wise said, No, lest there not be enough for you and us. Go and get for yourself. While they went, the Bridegroom came and they were left behind. "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day or the hour when the Son of man comes" (meaning the second coming of our Lord) Matthew 25:1-13 ..."Don't you die" is referring to the second death mentioned in Revelation 2:11 "He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death." *The second death is hell. Now, some of you, may not want to hear anything about hell, not even that word "Hell" unless it is in cussing. Please "cool it," We are warning you with tears in our eyes because Jesus loves you, and He doesn't want you to go there. "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE....GOD DID NOT SEND HIS SON INTO THE WORLD TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, BUT THAT THE WORLD MAY BE SAVED. John 3:16-17 If you don't believe it, you may need more faith, the way to get more faith is by hearing the word of God (from the Holy Bible) for what you need. Romans 10:17 says, "FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD." ..."How long can you falsify, and deny what is real". I believe all of us who have had this experience of the Holy Spirit coming into our spirit and giving us His energizing life, the beauty of salvation, like it so much, we wish we would have surrendered to Him sooner. We are not preaching down at you...we were there, we all have to come to the foot of the cross to be saved. He may be thinking about himself, also in saying this, 'cause even in our daily walk, we drift a little, if we don't spend enough time in studying the bible, and having fellowship in singing to Him, and praying. I have had days like that. "The things that we see are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18. That's reality! ..."Surrender your crown on this blood stained ground, take off your mask." This is like an altar call, a "crown" symbolizes being a ruler, here it may just mean to let go of your own control of your life as he points you to the cross at calvary where Jesus's blood dropped down to the ground for all the times you went your own way, away from Him. "Don't you burn" is direct and to the point, the sound of his voice is filled with compassion. How could a friend not warn you if you are getting to close to the edge of a cliff with a blind fold on?! He's trying to help someone to see the Light....to seek the Lord with all of their heart. Why? Jeremiah 29:13 "AND YE SHALL SEEK ME, AND FIND ME, WHEN YE SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART." Thank you, Bob Dylan. This is a wonderful song.
