We Die Alone Lyrics - Lamb Of God

Review The Song (4)

A moment in time worthy only of solitude.
A stranger not meant for another to see.

Are we the abandoned?
Are we the deserter?
Lived in the night so his wickedness way.

The faces light up their screens,
as the wealthy cash in on the war.
The body counts rise, the ratings will soar.

Another deceiver.
The liar, the patriot.
Counting the lies and keeping the score.
The score.

Look at the light face the faith that deserts you.
You are the hunted, the victim, the prey and the fallen.

We die alone. x4

A lamb in the line has been lead to the slaughter.

Another to join all the ghosts from before.
(Join all the ghosts from before.) - whispered

Another believer, another casualty.
Can't tell the way out from a chain to the floor.
The floor.

Look at the light face the faith that deserts you.
You are the hunted, the victim, the prey and the fallen.

We die alone. x4

The central message. | Reviewer: Austin | 4/30/12

You may have not pieced things together in the world because it's such a prevalently scrutinized topic but Lamb of God has more depth than the typical anti-religious rhetoric.

Lamb of God is spreading an urgent message of a worldwide monolithic conspiracy of control and supremacy who wish to create a world government AKA the New World Order.

Regardless if you believe it to be true, Lamb of God has many lyrics that solely are talking about this.

The war in Iraq is a unconstitutional blunder, we are there for resources and dominance, not finding mysterious terrorists or WMD's. This is what LoG is talking about in this song. We are being sold this whole story via our controlled media. We are told we are not being patriotic if we do not support the rape and pillage of other countries. Many multi-billionares are making money from the military industrial complex. Meaning they make billions in making weapons of war and taxpayers get stuck with the tab while their buddies in their secretive cabal like Halliburton profit from the campaign. Minerals, opium, oil. I could go on forever but....

my interpretation | Reviewer: Rachel Ibarra | 8/13/10

I think this song could certainly be about not only war but a holy war. the first few lines "a moment in time worthy only of solitude, a stranger not meant for another to see" could be referring to a prisoner of war. he is abandoned by his comrades but also deserting them at the same time. "another believer, another casualty" tells of how people are willing to blindly fight for their beliefs even when death is imminent, even when they are being lead to slaughter like the lamb.

a reply to meanings? | Reviewer: mr.aaron | 9/12/09

i can definetly see where you are coming from that it is about soldiers dying in the war, and that the wealthy profit from it, and that is certainly part of it, but at the same time the chorus says "face the faith that deserts you" and its possible its a reference to a holy war, however their usual antireligios lyrics make me want to think the lyrics have quite the double meaning. but im not sure i would certainly enjoy an interview about the lyrics of this album

I think this might be the most interesting song of the album... Its not like any of their songs really until the last minute and a half haha... The lyrics are kinda cool, I think its about the soldiers dying in the war. And how We Die Alone is saying that no matter if you die for glory, god, or country, inevitably we all still die alone...
