Vanishing Lyrics - A Perfect Circle

Review The Song (8)

Disappear
Disappear
Higher
Higher
Into the air
Slowly disappear
No, no longer here

Disappear
Disappear
Thinner, thinner
Into the air

Never really here
What that never

Like a thought brushing up against a...sigh (whispered)
Thinner
Thinner

Floating away
Floating away (repeated)

Vanishing like a sigh and slowly
Disappear
Disappear
Vanish, vanish into the air
Slowly disappear
Never really here

Floating away
Floating away (repeated)

Ugh...at people who try to make the song less artistic than it is by trying to force their interpretation of the lyrics on everyone! To you it may be about drugs. Heck, to howerdel it might have been drug inspired. But to me, it is whatever I want it to be! And that is the beauty of art!

Relapse | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/30/11

The thirteenth step is Relapse. Also continuing with A Perfect Circle, junkies are trapped in a never-ending cycle of drug use, rehab, and relapse. No other meaning than that. I'm tired of people trying to interperet this album when Billy Howerdel already explained the meaning behind it.

13th Step | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/5/11

Just to let some of you know: Every song on 13th Step has to do with drug use: The use, the realization of a problem, quiting, relapsing, hurting friends, hurting oneself, acknowledgement, and finally the relief of quitting. Starting with "the Package", doing anything you can to get drugs, to "Gravity", quitting and being brought down to reality. There are no theology songs, satanic songs, etc., etc. If you've ever been in a posistion of drug use and addiction, it's pretty clear. If you've simple used drugs, it should be a little clear. Even if you've stayed clean it should be a little clear. I know everyone has their own meanings for songs, but this is that rare album where the meanings should never be altered. Billy talked extensively about this album and it's meaning as well and should be respected for what it is.

They called their band a perfect circle for a reason:) every song has such a full sound. When played allowed it fills the room with the dark, calming sound of the soft drums and maynards magical voice. Perfect

It could be about drug related experiences, if you also take a look at the name of the album its on. Anytime doing drugs you feel like you are vanishing from the reality around you. Just another take on it.

Vanishing love | Reviewer: brando | 1/20/10

Everyone should just take A song in their own way, the way that they see it as. I see "vanishing" as A song about two people that had a strong love connection, and it's fading away. Their connection is vanishing from one another.
