Thomas Lyrics
Artist(Band):A Perfect Circle
Humble and helpless and learning to pray
Praying for visions to show me the way
Show me the way to forgive you
Allow me to let it go
Allow me to be forgiven
Show me the way to let go
Show me the way to forgive you
Allow me to let it go
Allow me to be forgiven
And show me the way to let go
Illuminate me
Illuminate me
Illuminate me
I'm just praying for you to show me where to begin
Hoping to, hoping to reconnect to you.

Review about Thomas
lol, athiest | Reviewer: brandon dunlap | 8/3/2008haha, this song reminds me of my friend Thomas. he's an athiest. The lyrics "Humble and helpless and learning to pray, Praying for visions to show me the way" always makes me crack up because it reminds me of him (btw athiest means he doesn't believe in god)

my boyfriend - Thomas - and I recently broke up. I know the song isn't about breaking up , etc. I've been a fan of APC ever since I was introduced to them when they first came out.
But for me this is about my relationship. How I gave everything away.. secrets , desires , insecurities for years and didn't get much in return. Until you wake up one day and realise.. I'm just a walking zombie in this relationship.
Anyway I digress :]

I can relate to this song because it reminds me of the realationship that my father and I have between eachother...
Behind the music | Reviewer: Devan W. | 6/29/2007
This song is amazing, like all of Maynards song there is a story behind it. Thomas, some bibilical character, i dont really know much about him but anyway. Thomas didnt believe Jesus that he would ressurect himself. So when Jesus did (on easter) Thomas was disappointed in himself, the lyrics "show me the way to forgive you" reflect that. <3 APC
the story | Reviewer: psythos | 6/4/2007
From what i've read and pieced together this song was about layne "Thomas" staley, perhaps mayanrds perspective or perhaps about him but thats a theory the other is its about the religous Icon "doubting thomas" however Maynard has been known to write a few songs about Layne for instance it's certain that his song "The outsider" is about Layne Staley anyways just though i'd add that in
Reason for the Unison | Reviewer: Mike | 5/14/2007
Thats because Maynard write his lyrics around the music... Not the other way around like most bands... He feels the noises of the instruments, and writes what he feels
dynamic is amazing | Reviewer: Emma | 2/18/2007
I looove this song.... Maynard is very versatile as an artist. The dynamic in this song is brilliant. I love how Maynard and the instrumentals are in unison as far as balance goes.
