This Time Imperfect Lyrics - A.F.I. (AFI)

Review The Song (22)

I cannot leave here, I cannot stay,
Forever haunted, more than afraid,
Asphyxiate on words I would say,
I'm drawn to a blackened sky as I turn blue,

There are no flowers, no not this time,
There'll be no angels gracing the lines,
Just these stark words, I find,
I'd show a smile, but I'm too weak,
I'd share with you could I only speak,
Just how much this, hurts me,

I cannot stay here, I cannot leave,
Just like all I loved, I'm make-believe,
Imagined heart, I disappear,
Seems...no one will appear here and make me real,

There are no flowers, no, not this time,
There will be no angels gracing the lines,

Just how much this hurts me,

I'd tell you how it haunts me,
I'd tell you how it haunts me,
(cuts through my day, and sinks into my dreams)
I'd tell you that it haunts me,
(cuts through my day, and sinks into my dreams)
You don't care that it haunts me,

Oh!
There are no flowers, no, not this time,
There will be no angels gracing the lines,
Just these stark words I find,

I'd share with you could I only speak,

Just how much this hurts me,
Just how much you...

Astounding... | Reviewer: Jack | 3/4/11

This album, and indeed this band has changed my life. Davey (and Jade's) lyrics are so sweet, yet they evoke such melancholy. Particularly powerful is this song, and it's the only way to end Sing the Sorrow. It's so sad, but still is never explicit about why. To finish the last line the way we all know it ends would be to give the misery a cause, and as such to end it would be to give up on everything the album is. I think Davey (my god) understood that, and so left the final words unsung.

Davey Havok is NOT the only person that wrote this song and Jade deserves some credit too!!! i agree with people when they say its a beautiful song and that Davey sings it like a freakin god but i also make it a point to let them know that Jade and Adam and Hunter are also part of the song. i am like in love with AFI (specifically Jade) and dont think their music could get much better...anyone know where i can get a copy of decemberunderground and sing the sorrow?

AFI 4EVR!!! my fave songs r this time imperfect and now the world..
Jade is my guitar hero :)

In all honesty, I hadn't listened to AFI in a really long time. I suddenly remembered the first few lines to this song a few days ago, and I started listening to them again.

I particularly like ...But Home is Nowhere, with that middle piano part and this song as the hidden tracks - that just adds to how much I love it. (And that's a lot for me to say that, I don't really listen to this style of music, I'm more of a heavy metal person in all honesty.)

I love how deep the lyrics are, they really make you think about things. I just wish more people would look past labels and names, and actually listen to words once in a while.

... People are saying, "Oh, Davey wrote this song so beautifully!"

... Where the hell is Jade's credit?

He started the song; he wrote verse 1 and the chorus. NOT TO MENTION the melody.

Oh yes, and Hunter wrote the bass line you can hear pre-verse 2, if memory serves. And have you heard the drums? Adam wrote that.

So, credit the entire band for the song, not just Davey.

i love this song because i conect with it so well and i to have cried while listening to this song but the main reason is because of the way davey havok sings the song its so powerful and meaningful at the same time its almost like he wrote this song for his fans that are so dear and close

It's so sad to see how their music has changed
their new albums have no emotion...
This album was definitely the height of their career, and will be one of my favorite albums forever

this song is really special for me...there will never be a day that I don't listen to it. AFI is my favourite band EVER. And Davey is my God. And WILL be.

Simply amazing. | Reviewer: Jordan | 11/24/07

Davey Havok is the most talented human-being I can think of. I don't know how he does it. His music makes me cry every single time. Exspecially this song, it means the most to me out of all their music. I don't know where I'd be without AFI, or if I would even be alive. Truely, the are the most amazing people on the planet. I haven't met them, but hope someday I will get that wonderful experience. I want to tell them in person, that they have honestly saved my life.

Omg, Davey Havok has created a brilliant song here. He sings it with such a passion it brings tears to my eyes. Where would some of us be without them?
