The Hollow Lyrics - A Perfect Circle

Review The Song (6)

Run desire run
Sexual being
Run him like a blade
To and through the heart
No conscience
One Motive
Cater to the hollow

Screaming feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacify this hungering
So grow
Libido throw
Dominoes of indiscretions down
Falling all around
In cycles
In circles
sponsored links
Constantly consuming
Conquer and devour

Cause it's time to bring the fire down
Bridle all this indiscretion
Long enough to edify
And permanently fill this hollow

Screaming feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacifying

Feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacifying

Yes, this song has to do with sex; however, the person he sings of uses sex like drugs, to escape the pain of something bigger (catering to the hollow). This person is looking for something more than a temporary fix. He longs to permanently fill a hollow. He seeks love.

Love Maynard | Reviewer: JR Torres | 6/26/11

His lyrics may not always be ethical, but he does always have a great point of view on things that make human nature special and a vital thing to observe, his lyrics really a a very large study of the human soul, and every part of it that makes it what it is, a fragile and strong being at once but capable of nearly any thought and action. His words show deeper meaning to human life and destiny itself

The sibfs undertone | Reviewer: That Irritating Ginger | 11/3/10

The author of the song makes most of his songs about drug addictions and rehabilitation. This is how drugs are almost like sexual intercourse for him as if shooting up with heroin is like an orgasm for him. But this is my take on it.

Two interpretations | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/20/10

I really just thought it had to do with food... then I read the lyrics... all these years and This was the only lyric I havent read from APC and TOOL... I swear If this really was about food it was the most amazing song about food I ever heard XD

( I know. I sound like an idiot. but if I had to give an interpretation based on the lyrics he is, in my opinion talking about his unquenching sexual desire. its consuming his very thoughts and his will. really because he can't control himself. he just wants the pure sexual gratification but at the same time he wants to find a partner who can fulfill him sexually. So that he doesn't have to constantly search but at the end all he has is a temporary fix.) Maynard has the best voice...

Sex | Reviewer: DMC | 2/17/10

Yes, it is about sex. How someone goes from partner to partner, not caring as long as they temporarily satisfy the craving. I like the way it ends though,
'Cause it's time to bring the fire down
Bridle all this indiscretion
Long enough to edify
And permanently fill this hollow'
Basically, it's time to stop screwing around and find someone you love that can permanently satisfy you - my take anyway.
Probably has other meanings, most of the songs do, but this is why I like it.

Jus my thoughts, obviously the songs about sex. We live day 2 day craving it jus to satisfy that void in our lives"the hollow".but in the end guess wut, the next day were never satisfied an left with the same hallow as b4. Quite a take on sex but in a way freakishly true
