The Empty World Lyrics - The Cure

Review The Song (1)

As stiff as toys
And tall as men
And swaying like the wind torn trees
She talked about the empty world
With eyes like poison birds

She talked about the armies
That marched inside her head
And how they made her dreams go bad
But oh how happy she was
How proud she was
To be fighting in the war
In the empty world

As stiff as toys and as tall as men.... | Reviewer: Dustin | 8/11/2004

The Empty World is another song on The Top that deserves recognition. Its lyrics and tune leave you humming the march. Although, The Empty World is not on the "low esteem" Cure albums, Pornogaphy, Faith, or Sevnteen Seconds, the song still serves as a depressent; however, when on Cloud 9, there will always be a fall, and The Empty World serves as an appropriate cushion.
