Tell Mama Lyrics - Savoy Brown

Review The Song (1)

(Simmonds/Raymond-Chrysalis Music Ltd.)
I quit my job, ain't got no money
Seems I have to leave this town
Packed my bag, run to the station
Board the train eastward bound

Tell Mama
And all the folks back home
Sometimes a man just feels
He's got to make it alone
Tell Mama
Why I'm leaving so soon
Because this life I live
Has got me sick through and through

Nothing to do, that's why I had to go
Seems no use in hanging round
I can't stop now, the ticket's in my hand
Board the train eastward bound

I quit my job, ain't got no money
Seems I have to leave this town

Savoy Brown, one of the best ever blues/rock bands | Reviewer: TJ | 10/5/2007

This was one of my all time blues favorites. Off the "Street corner talkin"
album, has some fine slide guitar. These guys paved the road for blues/rockers! They go way back. I grew up listening to them . Check out you-tube, tell mama and several other hits by savoy brown can be heard there!
