Bob Dylan Solid Rock Lyrics

Last updated: 05/16/2013 07:11:32 PM

Well, I'm hanging on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And won't let go, and I can't let go, won't let go
And I can't let go, won't let go, and I can't let go no more.

For me He was chastised, for me He was hated
For me He was rejected by a world that He created
Nations are angry, coursed are some
People are expecting a false peace to come.

Well, I'm hanging on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And won't let go, and I can't let go, won't let go
And I can't let go, won't let go, and I can't let go no more.

It's the ways of the flesh to war against the spirit
Twenty-four hours a day you can feel it and you can hear it
Using all the devices under the sun
And He never give up 'til the battle's lost or won.

Well, I'm hanging on to a solid rock
Made before the foundation of the world
And won't let go, and I can't let go, won't let go
And I can't let go, won't let go, and I can't let go no more.

The verse that touches me the most in Solid Rock is from Isaiah Chapter 53 ..."For me He was chastised, for me He was hated, for me he was rejected by a world that He created." The whole song glorifies the Lord. I can't understand why more Youth pastors didn't have songs like this in their church that Bob Dylan wrote. Jesus said, "If I be lifted up I will draw all men to me." It certainly lifts Jesus up. And when I heard Bob Dylan talking about Jesus on an interview during his "Jesus Years" I liked every word he said, and how he said it.. It made me very happy to see him taking a stand for for the Lord in front of those unbelievers like he did. In the end, all that is going to matter is for a soul to make it into the kingdom of Heaven.
