Nightwish Sahara Lyrics

Last updated: 11/09/2008 10:00:00 AM

A ballad of dark queen echoes through night
As he flees the curse of gods, the pharaoh`s wrath

1001 nights unseen
The philosopher and the queen

Ancient mariner in a sea of sand
The burning beauty his tomb to die for

1001 nights unseen
The philosopher and the queen
Horizon`s swarming with death

Heaven has a darkened face
Dunes are soaring, as on a chase
Caravan of the cursed
Chasing him across the waves

May he now rest under aegis of mirage
As the sands slowly turn to Elysian fields

1001 nights unseen
The philosopher and the queen (1001)

1001 nights unseen
The philosopher and the queen(1001)

1001, 1001

The song was taken from the tale of 1,001 Nights... and done wonderfully. It took me a bit to figure out the meaning of the song. I love the stories Nightwish's songs always tell, an amazing band no matter WHO is singing.

Another epic song from Tuomas and Company | Reviewer: MaskedNicci | 1/22/2008

This song reminds me of the Mummy movie, and since Tuomas seems to incorporate an epic storyline in each of his extremely epic songs, I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by the story. XD

New singer or not, it's a very well-written song, and fun to listen or sing along with.

The voice isn't as amazing as Annette's but Ishtar (not Albania) has a song out with the same ability to transport one through time. The song is entitled Temple of Ishtar.

Annette is one hell of a singer, I think she's doing amazing.
Sahara is a unique song, and completely takes one to a different world and culture.
