Review about Rock Star It's called Satyre! | Reviewer: Da0th3rguy@hotmail.com | 9/29/09 This song is purely satirical which means that it uses ironic, over-exagerated imagery to poke fun at the stereotypical rock stars and show the ugly side of Hollywood. Now it wouldn't be called a satire if there wasn't some truth in it. We all know too well the early rock stars and their drug abuse, for most like the Beattles, the drug wrote the songs for them. And how many rock stars, and Celebrities in general hasn't landed themselves in sex scandals. "I'll even change my name and cut my hair" - now who could forget Britney shaving her head - and trust me, she wasn't the first. Yes it's Ironic, stereotyping but there are some truth in it. Of course it's intended as a jokey, ironic take on the whole "fortune & fame" thing. I'm a part-time musician (play guitar & sing in a mate's band) & we somtimes perform this song precisely because of its self-deprecating sentiment - we're nowhere near as good as we'd like to think we are and, for that reason, are quite capable of taking the p*** out of ouselves. Fot anoter brilliantly written song with similar sentiments have a listen to Joe Walsh's (ex-Eagles) "Life's Been Good".
