Raining Blood Lyrics - Slayer
Review The Song (13)
[Lyrics - Haneman, King, Music - Hanneman]
Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Death will be their acquisition
The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone
Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past
Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above
Awaiting the hour of reprisal
Your time slips away
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror

this morning i don't remember getting out of bed i only remember shivering in the hall and in the bathroom i couldn't think straight espiacially with the time and what i had to do.by the way i'm 12 and had to get ready for school and the bus gets here at 6:50-6:51 A.M.i was thinking about metallica and slayer and the song raing blood for no reason.i think i fell asleep on the bus.i haven't heard much from slayer.i took either my dad or uncle's slayer tape.i think it was south of heaven or something like tha.i liked it but i only heard the whole tape once.wierd thing is i like megadeth more than metallica or slayer but didn't think about them.one of the reasons i wanted to listen to slayer was because in the music video for peace sells by megadeth the kid had a slayer shirt on and i only heard about them and never seen the name written in their own way, like KISS has the S's that look somewhat like lightning bolts.also in the video i think one of the band members had a twilight zone shirt, which is probably my favorite show.i am not a normal 12 year old girl.as i'm doing my homework i am listening/kind of watching sonisphere festival 2011 on vh1 classic.

This song is definitely Slayer's Best, But overall Slayer isn't as great as some think they are, they also replace riffs alot in their songs. Btw Ive been to a Dragonforce concert myself and they sounded like shit. Fast doesn't always mean good.

^This guy here who told us all that Trivium was better than Slayer needs to fucking listen to Angel of Death before saying Tom Araya's vocals suck. Bet Matt Heafy can't scream like that and never will. And he should consider that Kerry King can probably destroy Dimebag Darrell and whoever is in Trivium at solo's. Again, Angel of Death, most insane solo ever. You mr anonymous can go lick a floorboard. Listen to some real music (Although I must admit I do still like Trivium, no hate to them but hate to you)

This the Best thrash song and album ever!! I was lucky enough to grow up around the corner from Dave Lombardo in California and I got to hear them for free for 3 years and they are amazing and really cool guys....SLAYER rules!!
Amazing band | Reviewer: Max S | 4/26/11
I love slayer, they are about the only thrash metal band i'm into, next to metallica. they headlined at the Big4 festival, along with metallica, megadeth and anthrax. its the most amazing thing ever.

ok this is the ideal thrash metal band:
1. Matt Heafy on vocals and guitar
2. Corey Beaulieu on guitar
3. Paolo Gregoletto on bass
4. Nick Augusto on drums
And this band is called Trivium.
P.S i hate everyone on slayer except Dave. He's a nice kickass drummer. And i especially hate Tom Araya. He disgraces christians and catholics by claiming he's a catholic while singin' "the target is fucking Jesus Christ". And his vocals suck

perfect thrash metal song.it has the right speed, complexity and the lyrics are clear.its probably about something that had been betrayed in the past but now its ready to take revenge.it is becoming stronger and stronger and now it will fuck anything that comes in its way.that is what i get from this one

No one in Dragonforce speeds their instruments. I've seen them live and they sound very close to their album recordings granted that one of them is almost always falling over drunk. It took Herman Li nearly 20 to master playing like that and little Metalhead cock licks like yourself keep claiming that Dragonforce needs to speed up the instruments because you can't stand the fact that your shitty wannabe Trash Jonas Brothers Cover Band can't keep up with them. It's honestly not even that hard to play as fast as they do. What seperates them from other speed metal bands is because they do it the best.
Btw, Kirk Hammet and Cliff Burton (R.I.P) would never agree to play with Dave Mustaine considering that Kirk hates him and he replaced Cliff. Dimebag Darrell is much better.

youd seriously have dave mustaine in your band over kerry king what a JOKE
and as for dragonforce what a heap of power metal bullshit lol
as for this song it is a thrash master peice
brutally fast but complex
excellent song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/5/09
this album is one of the best metal albums ever and slayers best, hands down. The guitars are really fast but not sped up, unlike some bands which i will mercifully not name. Here would be my ideal metal band. i'll include who the people are from for all of you noobs who don't know.
Tom Araya (Slayer) on vocals
Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) on lead guitar
James Hetfield (Metallica) on rhythm guitar (its said that he only sang because no one else wanted to)
Cliff Burton (Metallica) on bass (even though he's dead)
Dave Mackintosh (DragonForce) on drums (he's the only one in the band who doesn't use electronics to speed their instruments up.
Raining Blood lyric clear-up | Reviewer: Kris | 4/23/09
I have here the actual music sheet that I purchased that has the OFFICIAL lyrics. The line is indeed "Death will be their acquittance." This was to clear up any and all question as to which word it was. Hope this helped with confusion. The lyrics posted on this site are correct.
Michael | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/8/06
yeah, I agree....it's definitely "acquittance." I've always thought that's what it was and never understood how "acquisition" could fit in there, yet that's what all the lyrics say....why? "Acquittance" also actually makes sense in the context.
Raining Good. | Reviewer: Luke M | 4/17/06
The lyrics are word for word except in the first verse, the lyric written is "death will be their acquistion" when really in the song it says "death will be their acquittance"
Apart from that, i needed the lyrics to understand what was being sung, and it worked.
