Pierrot The Clown Lyrics - Placebo

Review The Song (20)

Leave me dreaming on the bed
See you right back here tomorrow for the next round
Keep this scene inside your head
As the bruises turn to yellow
The swelling goes down

And if you're ever around
In the city or the suburbs of this town
Be sure to come around
I'll be wallowing in sorrow
Wearing a frown
Like Pierrot the Clown

Saw you crashing round the bay
Never seen you act so shallow
Or look so brown
Remember all the things you'd say
How your promises rang hollow
sponsored links
As you threw me to the ground

And if you're ever around
In the backstreets or the alleys of this town
Be sure to come around
I'll be wallowing in pity
And wearing a frown
Like Pierrot the Clown

When I dream I dream of your lips
When I dream I dream of your kiss
When I dream I dream of your fists
Your fists... Your fists

Leave me bleeding on the bed
See you right back here tomorrow for the next round
Keep this scene inside your head
As the bruises turn to yellow
The swelling goes down

And if you're ever around
In the city or the suburbs of this town
Be sure to come around
I'll be wallowing in sorrow
And wearing a frown
Like Pierrot the Clown
Like Pierrot the Clown
Like Pierrot the Clown
Like Pierrot the Clown

Deep song | Reviewer: Steve | 3/15/14

This song is so deep, i mean this reminds me the love of my life.
I dream about her
I dream about the pain of loosing her

For me is non literal, you can put the meaning that you want to the song.

I miss you

Oh, Pierro! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/1/11

Well, as I see it, it's more literal than all the interpretation I've read in the reviews.
If you have expirienced BDSM, then you know what I am talking about. That love and that devotion it's real, and also wanting someone to hurt you phisically, missing them and waiting them to come and do it all again. The sorrow, the pity, the frown it's because his Dom isn't with him.
Well, you can also believe the other things, the beauty in music is that you can put the meaning that suits you more to love a song.

Pierrot the Clown.......... | Reviewer: Crush632 | 4/1/11

it can be literal, or non-literal, but still comes out the same. the controversial line, bleeding by the bed, a broken heart pours blood, a beaten person bleeds, its got it all. its about the pain and agony of being hurt but not accepting being turned away. when this is brought upon you, you should turn it away, push away. but a true love scorned, will die at its lovers hands. its about true love, and the ugly ultimate sacrifice that a true love may call for....

this song is so deep,
when you think of the traditional pierrot the clown persona its so moving to thin he could feel like this over someone.
I dont like the thought of beautiful brian being hurt hes so small and pretty :(

Placebo (L) | Reviewer: Skyeee | 1/30/10

I love this song and how it cuts through bullshit and just pierces your heart. It's like he wants her/him around no matter what and would do anything for his/her's love even if it meant to keep quiet.

Adore it.

Heartbreaking song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/10/10

It's an amazing song. I believe it's not about a girl, but about a boyfriend according to the "bleeding on the bed" lyric. Maybe it is about someone that treated the singer so badly and "acts shallow" but he still wants him around... It is scary how much in love one can be.

And the swelling goes down. | Reviewer: xXAnonymousRockGodXx | 4/20/09

This song is so deep it's scary.

I brought the album, being a 'net-based-fan' because of Meds and Infa-red...
I started listening to this song, and the amount of Love and Devotion, but Betrayal in Brian's voice within this song, shows alot of meaning...

I belive it's about someone has lost someone, either a friend or girlfriend to a drug-related inccident, and wants everything to go back to normal... Even putting his own body, soul and hart to make it work out...

The Placebo boys have done well in this song... One of my ultimate faves...

wow... | Reviewer: Penny | 3/9/09

This song actually sends shivers up my spine...
or maybe thats because im cold.

i love the echo of his voice

i think really he just has a druggie girlfriend that beats him up.. but he still loves her.

This song is so beautiful. Poetic and haunting, it doesn't depress you, but rather comes into your very heart and shows you the feelings that you hide and also the horrors and powers of the world. absolutley fantastic placebo.

Loved...! | Reviewer: Agatt | 3/20/08

This is so amazing... when I listen to this song I hear the words that describe me . ...really, it talks about everything that hurts me...:( I have never felt so much that it's about me. I don't stop listening Pierrot The Clown . Never

Harsh tenderness | Reviewer: Ale | 12/17/07

Hi this is my first review on this site and what brought me to this song is probably the need of refugee that it provides, portraying the pain honestly , beautifully and even though being raw and cruel in a way that it doesn´t depress you, but accompanies you..

Where were you? | Reviewer: Brian | 12/3/07

Where was this song when I was married to my ex-wife? This so describes my relationship with her. I loved her and she loved me...........loved to hit me that is.

In awe | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/2/07

This song is one of PLacebo's best. I het the comparison going on though. Placebo and My chemical romance are very different bands and i like both of them.

Once agin i love this song, it is poetic and heart wrenching.
