Never-ending Road (Amhrán Duit) Lyrics - Loreena McKennitt

Review The Song (3)

Music and lyric: Loreena McKennitt

The road now leads onward
As far as can be
Winding lanes
And hedgerows in threes
By purple mountains
And round every bend
All roads lead to you
There is no journey's end.

Here is my heart and I give it to you
Take me with you across this land
These are my dreams, so simple and few
Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands

Deep in the winter
Amidst falling snow
High in the air
sponsored links
Where the bells they all toll
And now all around me
I feel you still here
Such is the journey
No mystery to fear.

Here is my heart and I give it to you
Take me with you across this land
These are my dreams, so simple and few
Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands

The road now leads onward
And I know not where
I feel in my heart
That you will be there
Whenever a storm comes
Whatever our fears
The journey goes on
As your love ever nears

Here is my heart and I give it to you
Take me with you across this land
These are my dreams, so simple and so few
Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands

Never Ending Road, BEAUTIFUL SONG | Reviewer: PRIVATE | 12/14/12

If I am correct, this album came about once she had initially recovered from the sailing accident which took the life of her fiancee. There were all kind of stories circulating of how she was dealing with the loss and whether she would even continue with her music. She rose above her grief and wrote, this song, which I believe is a tribute to his enduring Spirit intertwined with that of our Heavenly Father. I don't find it a dark mysticism but a potential that she was being guided out from under such beliefs into the Divine Light of Biblical Truth and the Holy and Abiding Spirit of God.

Do people use this as a wedding march? They should... | Reviewer: Johanan Rakkav | 9/24/12

And another question: How can Loreena sing this song without breaking down and crying? (Or many another sing she sings, for that matter?) I can't even listen to it, let alone try to play it, without crying...

Unbelievable amazing | Reviewer: Shadow's Star | 6/25/12

The song is amazing. Loreena is an awesome singer. She can mix Celtic, Irish, and other types like fabric. It's capturing, and from the first moment you hear it, you're transported to a world you didn't even know existed. It's the world of magic and mystery.Unicorns, Druids, spirits, and other magical creatures. That world is the world of myths and fantasy, where dreams can come true. In this song she sings of the road that never ends. People say all roads lead to Rome. No, in this world all roads lead you to your heart. In this song she's saying, follow your heart. Beautiful, mystical, loving, dreaming, this is what only Loreena can do. It wraps you up, and when the song ends you just want more. Close your eyes and dream, is Loreena's message. So do that. The world you'll be in is mythical. Magical. Mystical.
If you like this song, you'll like The Mummer's Dance.
