Nobody likes you...
Everyone left you...
They're all out without you...
Having fun...
Where have all the bastards gone?
The underbelly stacks up ten high
The dummy failed the crash test
Collecting unemployment checks
Like a flunkie along for the ride
Where have all the riots gone
As your city's motto is pulverized?
What's in love is now in debt
On your birth certificate
So strike the fucking match to light this fuse!
The town bishop is an extortionist
And he don't even know that you exist
Standing still when it's do or die
You better run for your fucking life
It's not over 'till you're underground
It's not over before it's too late
This city's burning
It's not my burden
It's not over before it's too late
There's nothing left to analyze
Where will all the martyrs go when the virus cures itself?
And where will we all go when it's too late?
And don't look back
You're not the Jesus of Suburbia
The St. Jimmy is a figment of
Your father's rage and your mother's love
Made me the Idiot America
It's not over 'till you're underground
It's not over before it's too late
This city's burning
It's not my burden
It's not over before it's too late
She said I can't take this place
I'm leaving it behind
Well she said I can't take this town
I'm leaving you tonight

Review about Letterbomb Viva La Gloria, anyone? | Reviewer: Kaycee | 11/10/09
has anyone who's heard the new song Viva La Gloria! think that some of the chords in Letterbomb sound a little similar to the part such as "Gloria, where are you Gloria, you write your name in graffiti on the wall" ?
i dont see what is so bad about becoming a fan post american idiot? I have been a fan since that american idiot became a single. I am still a die hard fan and listen to EVERYTHING they sing and write. So i personally dont see why it matters when you become a fan in the first place. As long as you love the sound and the concept anyone can be a die hard fan at anytime. I heard this in concert and it was AMAZING, and there new album is awesome. ^_^
Green Day is one of my all-time favorite bands. | Reviewer: Lisa | 8/14/09
Not only is this one of my favorite songs, but who cares about how Green Day is spelled or what songs you like from Green Day? They're awesome, that's all there is to it. You don't need to know about 39/Smooth and Insomniac, and you don't need to know all of Green Day's old stuff to like them... you just need to like their sound, that's all that matters.
Now, back to the subject. This song is so awesome! I can't even stop listening to it!
singles are a good thing, especially the ones from american idiot... | Reviewer: anonymous | 7/6/09
no one cares if there's a space in between the band's name. no one cares if people liked them before american idiot or not. people can be green day fans without knowing trivial facts and all the lyrics to every song since 1039/smoothed out slappy hours, that's virtually impossible. get over yourselves. green day will be happy and proud of the fact that people can hear one song and be hooked no matter what record it came from. that's what a single is bloody made for.
for the love of god | Reviewer: haushinka | 7/2/09
it is GREEN DAY not greenday
anybody who even remotely liked their music should know this
that really annoys the hell out of me
anyway
yeah it is an awesome song
but for people who only know 'greenday' through american idiot, you can't possibly love the band without listening to more of their older stuff.
i hate people that reckon that because they know the words to american idiot, or wake me up when september ends, they are green day fans. for the love of god, go out and buy warning, it is possibly their best album to date.
anyway
GO AND BUY 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN
i think that album will reveal their true die hard fans, as it is a bit different from the norm.
green day have been my favourite band for over 10 years and i have every single one of their albums and know the words to all of their songs.
so do not think i am just another teeny.
good song, good album, good band!
my little rant haha | Reviewer: Emily | 1/19/09
awesome song. Very powerful. i like the last two lines best =)
and also I dont get what all the fuss is about when bands "sell out". Isnt that a good thing? isnt that one of the reasons they would have started the band in the first place? to be successful and sell out? i understand if they get a new producer of something and start to sound like everyone else, but if its just that there are more fans of the band then it s good thing right? or am i missing something...?
anyways loove the song

this song is truly moving and powerful.Though i am an Indian,i am a great fan of Greenday. The song relates to inhuman politics not just in America but everywhere around the world.I became a Greenday fan only after American Idiot and this song with Bille Joe's incredible voice, great words and brilliantly played instruments almost hypnotizes you for a few seconds and makes you listen to it over and over again.Greenday truly rocks!!
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!Sicne the first time I ever heard it I couldn't stop listening to it!It's my favourite from all GD songs (although I'm a fan since 2-3 years only :) )it's gets stuck in your head forever...and so powerful..wow :D but isn't there a part of lyrics that's missing here???
every one says that green is awsome and they where untill they remixed american idiot in bullet in a bible now i listen to system of a down

This song is just incredible. If only they turned it into a single, or made a music video. It's just way to good of a song to be looked over like it is. But the music is just powerful, and it turns into an epic piece.
I would definitly consider this one of the most brilliant songs ever put together, and it's probably the best one Green Day wrote.
