Leif Erikson Lyrics - Interpol

Review The Song (10)

She says It helps with the lights out
Her rabid glow is like braille to the night.
She swears I'm a slave to the details
But if your life is such a big joke, why should I care?

The clock is set for nine but you know you're gonna make it eight.
So that you two can take some time, teach each other to reciprocate.

She feels that my sentimental side should be held with kids gloves
But she doesn't know that I left my urge in the icebox
She swears I'm just prey for the female,
Well then hook me up and throw me baby cakes, cuz I like to get hooked.

The clock is set for nine but you know you're gonna make it eight.
All the people that you've loved they're all bound to leave some keepsakes.
I've been swinging all the time, think it's time to learn your way.
I picture you and me together in the jungle it will be ok.

I'll bring you when my lifeboat sails through the night
That is supposing that you don't sleep tonight

It's like learning a new language
As we catch up on my mind.
If you don't bring up those lonely parts
This could be a good time
It's like learning a new language
You come here to me.
We'll collect those lonely parts and set them down
You come here to me...

She says brief things, her love's a pony
My love's subliminal

Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/9/11

This song is too amazing to describe in words. I am baffled by its haunting, relaxing, emotional, and passionate moods. I am forever in love with this song, this album, and Interpol. Please come to Brasill!!!!!!!!

One of my favorites of all time | Reviewer: Richard Quintero | 4/14/11

Few songs are as haunting and relaxing as this one, the harmony that the band achieves during the whole song is just amazing. This is my favorite interpol song. Other favorites include No I in threesome, pioneer to the falls, obstacle 1, evil and next exit.

Love this group..to death | Reviewer: Cathy | 3/26/11

I've been a fan for yrs, but I never been so inlove with them until the last three albums. I love "Stella was a diver an dshe is always down", Evil, Wrecking ball(the lyrics and music..the sounds intoxicates me), The Heinrich Maneuver(love the album picture), PDA,Barricade,Leif Ericson, New York kiss. Rest My Chemistry,No I in threesome,The Lighthouse(so lovely), The New, Poineer to the Falls, Say hello to the Angels,Lights,Scale. I can go on and on !!!!!

Agreed | Reviewer: David | 7/19/10

This is certainly a haunting melodic track with deep lyrics about monogamy with HUGE narcissistic overtones. The organ during the verse and guitar rift at the chorus are a gorgeous juxtaposition. OTHER FAVORITES include The New, Not Even Jail, No I in Threesome and PDA.

Outside it's raining... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/30/07

...and this song couldn't fit better with this weather. I like their sound, but their lyrics I just love them. No words to describe them, they're just perfect to me...

it flows | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/21/07

it make you feel like you could float away on the diamond rift. it flows, and my whole body can relax and move right along with it, steady and flowing. it will always be one of my all time favorites.

Can't get enough of interpol | Reviewer: Laurie Schaible | 10/19/07

I have been listening to them, almost straight, for 3 months now. Incredible. The more I listen, the more I am in love with their sound. Touches my soul...the melodies riveting, the guitar rifts carry me away...the drums touching me. The bass....can't even find words for their sound....

erotic | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/30/07

they have the most wounderful
sound i have ever heard in a long time
and it is addicting to the ears.
the lyrics are so unique and ribald
it is a true experiance

Hauntingly beautiful | Reviewer: Thrasher | 8/25/07

Interpol have done it again. Produced a masterpiece that is in line with their first album and first titles.

This is a beautifully haunting melancholy tune.
