Johnny Cash Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream Lyrics

Last updated: 12/22/2011 10:00:00 AM

(originally by Ed McCurdy)
Last night I had the strangest dream I've ever known before
I dreamed that all the world agreed to put an end to war
I dreamed I saw a mighty room, the room was filled with men
And the papers they were signing said they'd never fight again

And when the papers were all signed, and a million copies made
They all shook hands and bowed their heads and grateful prayers were prayed
And the people in the streets below were dancing round and round
While swords and guns and uniforms lay scattered on the ground

Last night I had the strangest dream I've ever known before
I dreamed that all the world agreed to put an end to war

Last Night I had MY strangest dream I Never dreamed be-fore. I dreamed OUR world had all a-greed to put an end to war. I dreamed I saw ONE mighty room, FILLED WITH WOMEN AND men, and PAPERS they were signing said they'd never WAR again. And when THOSE PAPERS all were signed and a million copies made, they all joined hands and bowed their heads and grateful prayers were prayed. And people in-IN streets below were dancing round and round, and swords and guns and uni-forms were scattered on-ON THEIR ground. Last night I had MY strangest dream, I Never dreamed before, I dreamed OUR world had all agreed to put an end to war.
