Lake Of Fire Lyrics
Artist(Band):Nirvana
Review The Song (18)Print the Lyrics
Where do bad folks go when they die
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly
Go to a lake of fire and fry
see them again 'till the Fourth of July

I knew a lady who came from Duluth
Bitten by a dog with a rabid tooth
She went to her grave just a little too soon
flew away howling at the yellow moon

Where do bad folks go when they die
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly
Go to a lake of fire and fry
see them again 'till the Fourth of July

People cry and people moan
Look for a dry place to call their home
Try to find some place to rest their bones
While the angels and the devils try to make 'em their own

Where do bad folks go when they die
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly
Go to a lake of fire and fry
see them again 'till the Fourth of July

the meat puppets didnt originally play this song as fast as on Too High to Die... on their II album it was really slow and dirty sounding... but this one is definately better than the originals... Kurt didn't have to worry about the guitar, making him sing better... And Curt Didn't have to worry about singing, making him play better...

Good Cover Song | Reviewer: Alex | 5/27/2008

I've heard this song by both the Meat Puppets and Nirvana and I like it a lot more when Nirvana does it. The Meat Puppets play it fast and sing it in a way that I don't feel represents the mood of the lyrics. It sounds more authentic when Nirvana sings it.

john does have a point. | Reviewer: dylan | 3/12/2008

there is no song called under the bridge. it is most def. called "something in the way". but i think where people get this confused is the first line says..... " underneath the bridge, the top has sprung a leak" so yeah john was right

LAKE OF FIRE | Reviewer: Blake Sutton | 2/8/2008

This song, as many people have figured out, is by the meat puppets. but it's not comepletely a cover. The meat puppets actually joined him on stage as the song was performed and played guitar and bass, while Krist played guitar, Pat left the stage, and Kurt sang without his guitar in hand.

YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID | Reviewer: john | 1/27/2008

Im from aberdeen washington where kurt grew up. i knew him a little. and yes he did live under a bridge. there is a bridge ina berdeen called "Kurt cobain bridge" that goes across teh wishkah river and he slept under there for 5 nights. and he wrote the song something in the way under that bridge. and there is no nirvana song called under the bridge so who ever started saying that is just plain retarded.

    Idiots. | Reviewer: Breanna. | 1/2/2008

magan-Bob Seger could NOT write this.

THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN BY THE MEAT PUPPETS, PEOPLE.

One of Kurt's favorite bands; he was just having fun playing some of their stuff.

Seriously, have you guys even READ Journals? Stupid emo kids thinking they can relate to a man they don't even actually know anything about. I've said it many times before and I'll say it again-No one ever could or ever will relate to Kurt Cobain.

Unbelievable how few people actually read and know about songs...please, if you like a song, don't you want to know who sang it, what it's about, and who wrote it? Do some research before you say stuff, it looks dumb. ;)

    Cool vocals | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/9/2007

Its kinda cool when on the third verse Kurt's voice cracks. I mean its not really what people'd think as pro singing but its really sweet. You can really feel the passion he had for that music.

    Erm error | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/20/2007

"And also, there is no song called 'under the bridge', "

Actually under the bridge is a Red Hot chili Peppers Song

heard this today for the first time | Reviewer: Rowan carreira | 9/13/2007

this song is absolutely amazingly breathtaking
