Jimi Thing Lyrics - Dave Matthews Band and Dave Matthews

Review The Song (5)

Lately I've been feeling low
A remedy is what I'm seeking
I take a taste of what's below
Come away to something better
What I want is what I've not got
And what I need is all around me
Reaching, searching, never stop
And I'll say...

If you could keep me floating just for a while
'Til I get to the end of this tunnel, mommy
If you could keep me floating just for a while
I'll get back to you

Sometimes a Jimi Thing slides my way and keeps me swingin'
I'd like to show you what's inside
But I sure don't care if you don't like it
Brother chaos rule all about
Sometimes I take a walk there
Yes, God knows, sometimes I take a bus there
Shouldn't care I shouldn't care bereaved as I'm feeling

The day is gone I'm on my back
Staring up at the ceiling
I take a drink sit back and relax
Smoke my mind to make me feel
better for a small time
What I want is what I've not got
And what I need is all around me
I reach and search and never stop
And I'll say...

If you could keep me floating just for a while
'Til I get to the end of this tunnel ... mommy
If you could keep me floating just for a while
I'll get back to you

Sometimes it takes a Jimi Thing just keep me swingin'
I'd like to show you what's inside
But I sure don't care if you don't like it
Brother chaos rule all about
Sometimes I walk there
Yes, God knows, sometimes I take a bus there
Shouldn't care I shouldn't care bereaved as I'm feeling

(instrumental solo)

Lately I've been feeling low
And a remedy is what I'm looking for, cooking for
So I take a taste of what's below
Come away...

If you could keep me floating just for a while
'Til I get to the end of this tunnel Jimi.
If you could keep me floating just for a while
Well I'll get back to you

Sometimes it takes a Jimi Thing just keep me swingin'
I'd like to show you what's inside
But I sure don't care if you don't like it
Brother chaos rule all about
Sometimes I take a walk there
Yes, God knows, sometimes I take a bus there
Shouldn't care I shouldn't care bereaved as I'm feeling

This song is so so cool.. you can really get into this song. The lyrics rock the instrumentals rock and the emotional value of this song rocks. Jimi Thing is awesome.. but my favourite of DMB is Some Devil. Cheers Peace!!

One of my favs. Listening to the song as I type this review. Gotta say, I luv all of the DMB repertoire, but this is the one that makes me stop and take a breath.

Hey Butch lomg time no see, been a while since snortin coke in Calhouns basement. Glad you made it with Dave.

Great song! I was an addict as you knew I would be but I am clean now and this song makes sense to me now.

My science teacher | Reviewer: Lisa-Michelle and friends | 5/15/2007

My science teacher absolutely loves this band. He even ditched us to see DMB's concert in Sydney, Australia and left us with a horrible pointless woman!! This song is quite cool. One of my friends and I know some of the words to this song. A few of DMB's other songs are weird, so they're not our liking.
Anyway, thanks Mr.(CW) Lol

My science teacher absolutely LOVES this band. He even ditched us to go to their band in Sydney and left us with a teacher who we hate. so we would like to leave him this comment to find. Thanks a lot Mr CW.
