Review The Song (62)Print the Lyrics
I'm the son of a third generation farmer
I've been married 10 years to the farmer's daughter
I'm a God fearing hardworking combine driver
Hogging up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower
Chug-a-lug-a-lugin 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester.

3 miles of cars laying on their horns
Falling on deaf ears of corn
Lined up behind me like a big parade
Late to work, road raged jerks
Shouting obscene words flippin me the bird

Well you maybe be on a state paved road
But that blacktop runs through my pay load
Excuse me for trying to do my job
But this year ain't been no bumper crop
If you don't like the way I'm a driving
Get back on the interstate
Otherwise sit tight and be nice
And quit your honking at me that way

Cause I'm the son of a 3rd generation farmer
I've been married 10 years to the farmer's daughter
I got 2 boys in the county 4-H
I'm a lifetime sponsor of the FFA
Hey that's what I make
I make a lot of Hay for a little pay
and I'm proud to say
I'm a God fearing hardworking combine driver
Hogging up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower
Chug-a-lug-a-lugin 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester.

Well I know you got your own deadline
But cussing me won't save you no time Hoss
But this big wheel wide load ain't going any faster
So just smile and wave and tip your hat to the man up on the tractor

Cause I'm the son of a 3rd generation farmer
I've been married 10 years to the farmer's daughter
I got 2 boys in the county 4-H
I'm a lifetime sponsor of the FFA
Hey that's what I make
I make a lot of Hay for a little pay
and I'm proud to say
I'm a God fearing hardworking combine driver
Hogging up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower
Chug-a-lug-a-lugin 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester.

I'm a God fearing hardworking combine driver
Hogging up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower
Chug-a-lug-a-lugin 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester.

Review about International Harvester

Haha I love this song. | Reviewer: Sky | 9/13/09

To start off, I hate country. But I heard this song in my buddys car...the lyrics fit the redneck country stereotype so well I laughed and started singing along. I don't know what half the crap is he's talking about (4-H, FFA?) but I love this song haha.

Well written and executed to the T. This song says so much with so few words. It aint really about tractors, more about a certain kind of folk and the best way of life possible. I tip my hat to Mr. Morgan, the song writter the video producer. What a great slice of Americana!

SICK REVEIW | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/16/08

This song is one of the greatest songs ever. It describes me in so many different ways. If your ever a farmer like i am it makes you think a lot of how people do flip you the bird and other stuff they do.

GREAT!!!! | Reviewer: Nicholas Wahl | 3/30/08

This song is the perfect new country song. If you have ever lived out in the country (owensborrow Ky) You know the true meaning. But people who think they know what the country is are wrong. I love country and rock. Correct it isnt like classic rock. But it is a step up. Did you ever consider that the farmers daughter could be another farmers daughter. although not said in the song. Use your brain, listen to the words and what they could and do mean. then compare. Country is about life love sad happy etc etc. and its not just bullshit redneck music. You are thinking of bluegrass

This is the BEST song ever!!! | Reviewer: Heather | 3/6/08

Ok...I guess you all have to actually understand country music to understand this song. He has more than ONE job..he drives a plow, a tractor, AND a combine..the person who said that he/she thought it was all three-in-one is retarded. A farmer does more than drive just one machine. They have a very important job and it gives you food that you take for granted. So shut up and if you don't like the song stop looking up the lyrics..I absolutely LOVE this song and Craig Morgan did an AMAZING job on it!!! :D So yeah and by the way...I agree with Erica on the whole marriage thing..there's more than one farmer in thier town..DUH! Some people need to think more before they open their mouths..!!!

You don't understand? | Reviewer: erica | 3/1/08

He's not married to his sister. He's just refering to being married to "the farmer's daughter" it could be any farmer. Maybe the person who thinks farmers are all retarded rednecks should consider exactly where their food comes from. And if America promotes such retards maybe you should move to another country. I like lots of different music, but this song is good. I think it promotes the hard working people that make up the backbone of our country. Besides, most people today can't say that they have been married to anybody's daughter for 10 years, so get off your hi-horse you bunch of city slickers!

Can someone explain this song? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/27/08

Aside from the implications that he is married to his sister this song doesn't make sense in a lot of other ways. Is he driving a combine or a tractor? He says he is a combine driver, but he is driving a "plower". Obviously you don't plow with a combine. Then he mentions the "ears of corn". If he is a combine driver, why does he have ears of corn? Since a combine by definition combines picking and shelling operations there are no "ears" of corn. Then he refers to tipping your hat to the man up on the tractor, again making you wonder why he then refers to himself as a combine driver. Finally, why is he driving only 5 mph on the road? Whether it is a combine or a tractor, normal road speed would be 10 to 25 mph. Oh yeah, it is a IH, no wonder it is so slow.
