Innuendo Lyrics - Queen

Review The Song (11)

While the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand
While the waves crash in the sea and meet the land
While there's a wind and the stars and the rainbow
'Till the mountains crumble into the plain

Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
Tread that fine line
Oh we'll keep on tryin yeah
Just passing our time

While we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
Through the eons, and on and on

Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
We'll tread that fine line
Oh oh we'll keep on tryin'
'Till the end of time
sponsored links
'Till the end of time

Through the sorrow all through our splendour
Don't take offence at my innuendo

You can be anything you want to be
Just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be
Be free with your tempo be free be free
Surrender your ego be free be free to yourself

Oooh ooh
If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky
If there's a point if there's a reason to live or die

If there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask

Show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask

Oh yes we'll keep on trying
Hey tread that fine line
Yeah we'll keep on smiling yeah (yeah yeah)
And whatever will be will be
We'll keep on trying
We'll just keep on trying
'Till the end of time
'Till the end of time
'Till the end of time

Innuendo in search of truth | Reviewer: Ken | 7/23/14

I guess the song is searching for the truth, the purpose of existence but sad they never did.its powerful that's why Queen is the greatest band that ever existed.if John Lennon has imagine then Queen has Innuendo.

Ultimately remarkable and fantastic | Reviewer: Alexander | 5/15/12

This is a remarkable and fantastic song. A song to be remembered through the ages "till the end of time." It just has that raw power, with different variants of music all through. Sure the lyrics is dark and sounds hopeless, (although what the song says is actually true for mankind) it still sounds like it has a positive sound to it. Very few bands has actually that much talent to do something like that. And Queen is definitely one of them. Queen and Freddie Mercury shall will be remembered till the end of time!

Love the album, Love the track. | Reviewer: Brittany | 1/16/12

My first though of this song was it sounded like Bohemian Rhapsody meets Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. It does sound very Late Zeppelinish. Absolutely fantastic track and brilliant album. The song is so dark yet optimistic, there's this raw power part to it, sends shivers down your spine. To me, I kind of feel the connection between all the band. That they were closer together pulling through as a powerful unit. Amazing song coming from a amazing band.

Why Innuendo is imprinted in my mind | Reviewer: Johan | 11/24/09

I have considered Innuendo to be one of those massive popsongs that by its sheer strength and power, both in music and lyrics, simply elevates itself above so many other songs. But when I turned on the TV in my hotelroom in Annecy France on the morning of January 16, 1991 (or was it 17?) and tuned to Skynews - as always when I'm abroad to keep up to date - I could only look and listen in awe to their report about Operation Desert Storm that had begun that very night. After a while they showed uncommented footage of planes and tanks flying over and driving through the desert with the rising sun colouring the skies all colours red, yellow and orange....shimmering heat already visible. And the song they used to accompany these views was Queen's Innuendo. Needless to say it gave me cold shivers from head to toe..and it makes me remember that scene as if it was yesterday whenever I hear this song....

greatest song ever written | Reviewer: widya chalid | 6/15/09

This is the greatest song ever written, specially for Queen.. after years Queen didnt write complex music like this, aftr Bhorap. And for a long tinme, this is a legacy to the next rock generation who wants to learned how rock progressif must written. And for a long time I'm asking why Queen give a role to Yes's Steve Howe to played accoustic guitar in this song...I just thought, this is showed us, Queen is really serious to make it as a perfect song. and indeed, it is a perfect song.

First, some corrections- Just before the drum roll, Freddie clearly says "One, two, three four..." and there's an "Oooh ooh" before the first and second verses (which would be "While the sun..." and "While we live according..."
This is one of the greatest songs ever written. The stylistic changes keep the song interesting to those not accustomed to listening to long songs, the vocals are (as usual) simply amazing, and the lyrics are very reflective of human life and history. I've always enjoyed the strong harmonies Queen's music had, and this song did not disappoint. This was a truly beautiful closing piece, Mr. Mercury. R.I.P.

P.S.: Anon who posted on 1/14/09- This song's stylistic inspiration comes from Led Zeppelin (which makes it sadly ironic that Robert Plant couldn't remember the lyrics) while the lyrics were obviously inspired by the realization of mortality, and the beauty and hopelessness of life and death.

queen freak | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/27/09

im a queen fan.which makes me bias to there music.but i think this song is under rated.it must be up there with the best like stairway to heaven or even against queens own bohemian rhapsody.is there anybody who agree in any way?

My thoughts | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/14/09

Anonymous(I am too, but not me:]), I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure it's "If there's an answer to the questions we feel bad to ask", as is written, not bound. Listen to it over and over again. see what you think then. I'm probably wrong though, knowing my utter hopelessness at life in general. oh well. I see no actual point in this actually. Who would ever reply to this? Might as well review it whilst I'm at this.

The drum roll in the intro basically makes the song complete without even having to hear the rest of it, but I still listen to the whole thing. The faster bit in the middle is awesome. I'd like to know where the inspiration of this song came from. If anybody knows, please tell me. You don't have to, but at least I'd know somebody cares. Even if I don't know the person.

R.I.P Freddie Mercury. You still live on in my mind.

Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/09

ummmm there's an error... It's "if there's a question we feel bound to ask" not bad...

otherwise this song is absolutely amazing and it brings tears to my eyes each time...
