In The Light Lyrics - Led Zeppelin
Review The Song (15)
And if you feel that you can't go on. And your will's sinkin' low
Just believe and you can't go wrong.
In the light you will find the road. You will find the road
Ay Ooh, did you ever believe that I could leave you, standing out in the cold
ay-yay babe I know how it feels 'cause I have slipped through to the very depths of my soul.
oh woah baby I just wanna show what I'd give you it is from every bend in the road
Oh, whoa-whoa, as I was and really would be for you, too, honey
As you would for me, oh, I would share your load.
Let me share your load. Ooh, let me share, share your load
And if you feel that you can't go on
In the light you will find the road
Ay oh Though the winds of change may blow around you, but that will always be so
oh oh woah woah When love is pain it can devour you, but you are never alone
I would share your load. I would share your load
Baby, let me, oh, let me
In the light
Everybody needs the light.
oh yeah yeah ooh baby everybody everybody light light light In the light, light light light in the light, light light light in the light in the light
Light, light, light, in the light
Light, light, light, in the light, ooh, yeah
Light, light, light, in the light

Not just another sex song | Reviewer: Greedav | 4/11/14
Although Led Zeppelin is famous for its music, it is not praised as much for its lyrics. This song, among others, is an exception to the more common sex/lust songs Led Zep penned, especially in their earlier years. It's great to have such touching, relatable, comforting lyrics from one of the greatest bands in history!
MY LOVE | Reviewer: KEITH | 7/22/12
DEBBIE MENEGHIN ((ORIGINALLY EVE, THEN DEBORAH, THEN MARY MAGDALENE (MAYBE SOME OTHERS IN BETWEEN AND AFTER)) I KNOW I HAVE BEEN YOUR MATE FOR ALL THE BODIES YOU HAVE BEEN IN. PLEASE LET ME SHARE YOUR LOAD AND LET ME BE YOUR MATE NOW! THANKS FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS SONG.
great song to show people who are thinking about killing themselves | Reviewer: stephen | 12/8/10
i wound up here cause i just read on another site
"When love is pain it can devour you, if you are never alone" and i was under the impression it was "...but you are never alone" like this site says.hmmm...come to think of it i don't know why love would devour as pain from being never alone...
Unbelievable | Reviewer: Scott G | 7/30/10
This song far surpasses anything I've ever heard. The music and the message are as clear as the light that drives it. I've been through some tough times, as I'm sure most of us have, and this song always helps me through. You can feel the pain and the hope in the lyrics, as well as the spirituality in the music. Not one of Zep's most famous songs, but certainly one of their finest. Thanks to all four of them for saving at least one sad soul.
What else can you say, it's Led Zep.....AWESOME! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/18/10
When I get burnt out and tired of death and speed metal and my soul seeks peace, there is Led Zeppelins In The Light. Thier music, just as they are awesome. This song has a very powerful spiritual tone to it. Just another of Led Zeppelins greats. Sad that no bands obtain that which Led Zep did.

In a grander tradition than old Iron Butterfly (approx. 100 times heavier) is this precious Zep gem, balanced delicately between softness and heaviness, the darkness and pure light--in this case delivering a keenly baroque and positive message, when it isn't absolutely stomping out your backside with haunting ubertones. They were a great band.
A Very well-kept secret. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/13/09
When you mention Led Zep, most people think of "Stairway to Heaven," and "Kashmir" and to a lesser extent, "Your Time's Gonna Come," or even, "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You." This one, however, is one Led Zep's most little known and emotionally raw tunes, not so much in the sense of the lyrics but in the sound coming out of the instruments themselves--Page's weeping lead lines, Plant's vocals, Jone's moody bass and last, but not least, Bonzo's drums. The drumming makes the song, there were times when Bonzo would throw away the sticks onstage and start smacking the drums with his bare hands and here--if you listen very, very carefully, you can hear the sensitivity in the drums, the pain, the sorrow, and the soul-cleansing introspection. If ya got it on vinyl, put it on the platter, turn the lights down low and FEEL.
Light, light | Reviewer: X092 | 11/6/07
Definitely a soul calming song. We truly honestly all need the light sometimes, theres a few others I know that could benefit from this pieces message to the world, as have I. Also, agreeing with a review from No Quarter, it is true, todays artists seem to be unable to capture the element that these songs seem to portray so efficiently.
EXCELLENCE | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/29/07
this song is soooooooooooooooooooooo good, in my mind it's up there with other Zep songs like When the levee breaks, Kashmir, and Stairway. SOO GOOD ^.^
Releasing Me | Reviewer: Zondra | 4/30/07
Listening to this song after many years relieves me of such a constant pain that I've been in and it brings back hope and "light" of what I need in this world.
