In Bloom Lyrics
Artist(Band):Nirvana
Sell the kids for food
Weather changes moods
Spring is here again
Reproductive glands
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say yeeeaaahhh
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
We can have some more
Nature is a whore
Bruises on the fruit
Tender age in bloom
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say yeeeaaahhh
*Guitar solo*
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
when I say
He’s the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
Knows not what it means
Knows not what it means and I say yeeeaaahhh

Jason's right because this song is jsut all about how people are like sheep and follow the next thing that their friends move to. My friends are all into the new songs and stuff but I choose to stick with good music because i like it not because its "cool". the ironic thing about thwe meaning of this song is that once Nevermind was released and it became 1 of the greatest albums in history all the sheep just followed and listened to it which is why Kurt got really annoyed and threatened to jump off of a stage roof in one of his concerts.

its about teens who just go with the flow without thinking about what it exactly means and of the consequences. examples are promiscous sex and listening to what everyone else is without questioning. most of there songs are anti commercialist and ridicule the worthless sheep of this country who just go on living there lives wihout a thought assuming things will work out for themselves and letting the obviously corporate media influence there naive outlook on the world and encouraging to them to not question them and to be happy that they are where they are and not in some filthy ditch dead after being raped and tortured in some third world country. the media basically tries to state "it could be worse so dont question what you got. be thankful instead." When really you should never be happy with what you have because that is how true progress is won. You should never be happy with what we as a people got and should always question everything. Not to be mindless sheep. so now you can all shut the fuck up now that you actually know what nirvana was really about. Fucking posers

i don't know why everyone fights about music. why cant people just agree that this is an awesome song, and not get so worked up about it, and for all u guys who pay it out just cause u reckon he made it on drugs, who cares. it doesn't change the final resulting sound.

Kurt didn't just "make this up" Kurt was laughing his ass off as he wrote this wonderfully humorous song about you and every other mindless moron who fails to read in to the lyrical message.
One of my biggest pet peeves are people who can't understand the metaphors of Nirvana, however that is aside from the point as Kurt's main message in this song is right out there and in your face.
The other lines aren't just B.S. he wrote cause it sounds good to sing, it is quite obviously about young teens becoming sexually aware.

Kurt Cobain is just talking about in this song how people just listen to music now because it simply has catchy hooks and they don't really look into the meaning of the lyrics behind he songs but rather just love the melody and hooks behind them. That is what he chorus is about. The verses are obviously just lines that he jotted down because it sounded good to sing.

I believe he is saying "Knows not what it means" not "Don't know what it means"
And for all of you who doesn't understand what this song means - is english your first language? JK! There was a time when grunge was popular and Nirvana was on top - People were saying they loved Nirvana and had no idea what they were about.

umm okay 'jonathan skurtu' you have no idea what nirvana was singing about so don't say he was just "making crap up". just because your too stupid to understand the meaning doesn't mean there isn't one. so why don't you do us all a favor and don't talk about things that you don't understand? its so ironic because, as someone already said, its about people singing along that don't understand the meaning and here you are saying there isn't even one. your stupid, so shut up.
kirt just made crap up | Reviewer: jonathan skurtu | 2/2/09
He was strung out on drugs and could pull a good rythm he just said random carp that eventually sounded strange. Not all of his songs are retarded but some are. All and all nirvana is good. But he was still just mumbling what he wrote down on drug benges. He was just a politically socialized punker. Arent we all though.
amazing song | Reviewer: max | 1/31/09
nirvana is my all time favorite bands, kurt's words speak to me like no other music does. that being said, in bloom is one of my favorite songs of theirs. and a slight correction on the lyrics, after 'but he don't know what it means, don't know what it means' instead of 'when i say yeahhh', im pretty sure it is 'and i say, ahhhh'
because i know he wrote the song about a friend of his who told him that he loved his music but had no idea what any of it was about, and it frustrated kurt because nobody could understand his songs and thought they didn't mean anything.

I know i cant give Cobain all the credet for it,because everyband takes more than one person to make it up and make it sucessful. He also may of spelt his name many different ways, but im pretty sure he used kurt the most.and i know nirvana rules they do more than rule they are fricken awesome.
