I Believe In You Lyrics - Bob Dylan

Review The Song (1)

They ask me how I feel
And if my love is real
And how I know I'll make it through
And they, they look at me and frown
They'd like to drive me from this town
They don't want me around
'Cause I believe in you.

They show me to the door
They say don't come back no more
'Cause I don't be like they'd like me to
And I, I walk out on my own
A thousand miles from home
But I don't feel alone
'Cause I believe in you.

I believe in you even through the tears and the laughter
I believe in you even though we be apart
sponsored links
I believe in you even on the morning after
Oh, when the dawn is nearing
Oh, when the night is disappearing
Oh, this feeling is still here in my heart.

Don't let me drift too far
Keep me where you are
Where I will always be renewed
And that which you've given me today
Is worth more than I could pay
And no matter what they say
I believe in you.

I believe in you when winter turn to summer
I believe in you when white turn to black
I believe in you even though I be outnumbered
Oh, though the earth may shake me
Oh, though my friends forsake me
Oh, even that couldn't make me go back.

Don't let me change my heart
Keep me set apart
From all the plans they do pursue
And I, I don't mind the pain
Don't mind the driving rain
I know I will sustain
'Cause I believe in you.

I BELIEVE IN YOU Review by Glory Cloud Revelation 1/17/2014

These following lyrics from, ‘I Believe in You’ touch my heart, because if you’ve ever seriously lived for Christ, you will have experienced this form of persecution.
“... they look at me and frown,
They'd like to drive me from this town;
They don't want me around
‘Cause I believe in you.
...They show me to the door
They say don't come back no more
‘Cause I don’t be like they like me to.”

May the following scripture bring comfort, strength and understanding to you in such a time as this:

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:10-1 +King James Bible
The verse:
“...And I, I walk out on my own
A thousand miles from home,
But I don't feel alone
'Cause I believe in you.”
Expresses: That his love for the Lord is stronger than even his love for his home, and even though he steps out on his own, by himself, he isn’t feeling lonely. When we believe in the Lord like this, in spite of persecution and abandonment by so called ‘friends’ or family’, the Holy Spirit comforts us.
‘THOU will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed is stayed upon THEE: because he trusts THEE. Isaiah 26:3

The following verses express deep devotion and faith in the Lord:
“...I believe in you even through the tears and the laughter
I believe in you even though we be apart,
I believe in you even on the morning after.
Oh, when the dawn is nearing,
Oh, when the night is disappearing,
Oh, this feeling is still here in my heart.”

Then, he expresses prayfully with thanksgiving and appreciation:
“...Don't let me drift too far
Keep me where you are
Where I will always be renewed.
And that which you've given me today,
Is worth more than I could pay,
And no matter what they say,
I believe in you.”

What’s “worth more than I could pay” that God’s given us, today?
Glory Cloud Revelation believes it’s the sacrifice God made at the cross. Jesus giving Himself as the Lamb of God to atone for our sins. *See Isaiah 53 (Old Testament, and Torah)

Now, he expresses his dedication, almost like a psalm of David:
“...I believe in you when winter turn to summer,
I believe in you when white turn to black,
I believe in you even though I be outnumbered;
Oh, though the earth may shake me
Oh, though my friends forsake me
Oh, even that couldn't make me go back.”

Then, he continues in his heart to Heart prayer
...Don't let me change my heart,
Keep me set apart
From all the plans they do pursue;
And I, I don't mind the pain;
Don't mind the driving rain,
I know I will sustain
'Cause I believe in you.

This song is beautifully written and sung with just the right music. I don’t know anyone who has ever expounded on the subject of persecution and devotion to the Lord in the midst of it, like Bob Dylan has expressed in, “I Believe in You”.

Thank you, Bob.
