I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Lyrics - Elvis Presley
Review The Song (1)
Hear that lonesome whippoorwill
He sounds too blue to die
The midnight train is whining low
I'm so lonesome I could cry
Did you ever see a robin weep
When leaves began to die?
That means he's lost the will to live
I'm so lonesome I could cry
The silence of a falling star
Lights up a purple sky
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry
I'm so lonesome I could cry
He sounds too blue to die
The midnight train is whining low
I'm so lonesome I could cry
Did you ever see a robin weep
When leaves began to die?
That means he's lost the will to live
I'm so lonesome I could cry
The silence of a falling star
Lights up a purple sky
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry
I'm so lonesome I could cry

The saddest song Elvis ever heard, or sang | Reviewer: Mike | 8/19/10
I agree with Elvis, this is the saddest song I've ever heard. In my opinion he sang this song from his heart, with much feeling. There is only one more song that I can think of that comes close to this one, In The Getto. Both of these songs deal with someone that you have lost, and that you love.Only the originator of the song, Hank Williams did better.
