I'll Always Be Glad To Take You Back Lyrics - Bonnie Owens
Review The Song (1)
After you have finished all your runnin' round and you find a card against your stack
After you are weary and so sick inside I'll always be glad to take you back

But after all they just don't really know you I'll always be glad to take you back
[ guitar - dobro ]
After life has taught you dear who really cares after all the rest is through with you
Just give me a ring and you will find me here waiting as I've always done for you
People tell me...

I'll always be glad to take you back | Reviewer: Mary Lou Brown | 6/18/2006
Bonnie, this is my favorite old Ernie Tubb song, so please correct the words:
Though they tell me that you have strayed dear, that your're traveling on that other track, Afer all they really just don't know you, And I'll always be glad to take you back. (You see, 'straight' doesn't work -- she has 'strayed' and he's saying he'll always be glad to take her back)
And then it is "when you find the cards against you stacked." My husband and I listened to that song when he came back from WWII. I am now 81, and that song brings back precious memories.
