James Taylor How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) Lyrics

Last updated: 03/30/2009 11:00:00 AM

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

I needed the shelter of someone's arms, there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs, there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you baby
I want to stop and thank you baby (yes I do)

How sweet it is to be loved by you (feel so fine)
How sweet it is to be loved by you

I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby (woah, yeah)

How sweet it is to be loved by you (it's just like sugar sometimes)
How sweet it is to be loved by you

(Woah, yeah)

You were better to me than I was to myself
For me, there's you and there ain't nobody else
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby (woah, yes)

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you (woah, now)
How sweet it is to be loved by you (it's like jelly, baby, woah now)
How sweet it is to be loved by you (just like honey to the bee babe, yeah now)
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

beautiful song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/29/09

i thin this is just a beautiful song! and btw i think it is really really bad to be fascinated with the gringo culture... c'mon.... i love mine, sure i like this song and there are things about that culture i like, but if somebody calls me a yanl i would be really angry, im proud of my roots and im proud of being costa rican, i would not trade that for anything.

Awesome Piece of Pie! | Reviewer: Roxy | 6/29/08

This song is in the movie "American Pie" and that's where I first heard it. I love how they sang it as a choir in the movie. I'm from Australia, but I am fascinated by North America so much! People from the USA and Canada are so cool in my books anyway. My sweet uncle Steve always says to me: "Oh you North American Girl!!" He sometimes calls me a yank for fun.

"How sweet indeed" | Reviewer: christina | 3/27/07

James Taylor sings this song with the ultimate cool and mellow that only he can deliver, and it's taken him some years to come to terms with just how much this song is loved by his fans. Now he doesn't mind singing it at the close of every one of his concerts. And how sweet is that indeed.
