Here Today Lyrics - Paul McCartney

Review The Song (8)

By Paul McCartney

AND IF I SAY I REALLY KNEW YOU WELL,
WHAT WOULD YOUR ANSWER BE?
IF YOU WERE HERE TODAY.
UH, UH, UH, HERE TODAY.

WELL, KNOWING YOU,
YOU'D PROBABLY LAUGH AND SAY
THAT WE WERE WORLDS APART.
IF YOU WERE HERE TODAY.
UH, UH, UH, HERE TODAY.

BUT AS FOR ME,
I STILL REMEMBER HOW IT WAS BEFORE
AND I AM HOLDING BACK THE TEARS NO MORE.
UH, UH, UH,
sponsored links
I LOVE YOU, UH.

WHAT ABOUT THE TIME WE MET? (what about the time?)
WELL, I SUPPOSE THAT YOU COULD SAY
THAT WE WERE PLAYING HARD TO GET.
DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A THING,
BUT WE COULD ALWAYS SING.

WHAT ABOUT THE NIGHT WE CRIED? (what about the night)
BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY REASON
LEFT TO KEEP IT ALL INSIDE.
NEVER UNDERSTOOD A WORD,
BUT YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE WITH A SMILE.

AND IF I SAY I REALLY LOVED YOU
AND WAS GLAD YOU CAME ALONG.
THEN YOU WERE HERE TODAY,
UH, UH, UH, FOR YOU WERE IN MY SONG.

UH, UH, UH, HERE TODAY.

True Feelings of Love | Reviewer: Sylvia Martin | 8/15/14

John and Paul grew up together without their Mother, so they adopted each other as brothers. No greater love than this could ever be connected between Mr. John Lenon and Sir Paul McCartney.
Only they would know how much love they had for each other. Even thought Paul states he never had the chance to tell John how much he loved him, but I think John already knew. Love them both.

that Paul hated John!??? | Reviewer: Juli | 2/16/13

That Paul hated John!? are you all CRAZY!? they were soulmates. They were more than friends. Off course the Break-up of the Beatles was traumatic for both of them, and they did fight a lot in 69-71. But that doesnt mean they stoped loving each other. Even Lennon said "if I can't fight with my best friend, with whom can I fight?" He probably hated him a couple of times. But they never stoped lovnig each other. They even met in 78 once in Johns apartment in the Dakota. There's a whole movie about it. Time heals. Fights fade. Paul has cried many many times singing this song while he thought of John... Its impossible to cry for something you dont really feel.

I love this song! I had the priviledge of going to see Paul in concert and his words were, he regreted not telling John how much he loved him while he was still alive, and this is how he thought their conversation would go, Paul sang with such emotion, it really proved how close they were and how much they'd gone through together.

Sounds false | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/28/11

I don't like it. I don't think Paul and John remained enemies all their life, time heals many things, they met again, they even played together (there's a bootleg proving this, "A toot and a snore") but this song is too sweet, too obvious to be true, it sounds false, written just as a condolence message. John wrote a song for Paul ("How do you sleep"), we can agree or not on the lyrics, but it was TRUE, it represented what he was thinking at east at the time!

wrong | Reviewer: hunter | 8/6/11

you are completely wrong... Paul has always and will always love John... I just had the privilege of seeing paul live in concert and to see the emotion in his eyes while singing this song was so touching... you could tell he was thinking about John and Linda the whole time

creepy | Reviewer: Isnaini | 6/24/11

This kind of song is very very creepy. We know that paul and john just like water and oil..
Paul accused john for beatles' broke up..
So why did paul write this song??
the answer is to raise popularity

This Is a Sad Song | Reviewer: Dixie Chicken | 6/4/11

This is a sad song. Anyone who takes it funny is a sick person. It's about the death of John Lennon. He is explaining his love towards John Lennon. He wants John Lennon to come back to life. He loved John Lennon. He still loves John Lennon. He cryes on his grave. Paul McCartney kisses & huggs his grave. There is a movie on youtube.com called Paul McCartney Cries After John Lennon's Death. It's very sad. Everyone was laughing on it and taking it funny. The people on the movie thought that it was hilaris. Paul McCartney was crying. He was crying in the song. He really misses John Lennon. He knew John Lennon for a long time. He still talks to John Lennon even though he is dead. He cried when Michael Peterson smeared glue & pop on his grave.
